SAYREVILLE — A dedication date has been set for the Emma L. Arleth School addition.

The ceremony, which will be held on Monday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m., will unveil the new $4.9 million addition to the Washington Road school.

In February 1999, voters narrowly approved a referendum for the addition.

The addition is said to cost residents an estimated $10.4 million over a 15-year period, and will aid in easing overcrowding at the school.

Statistics compiled for the referendum showed that enrollment on the elementary level has increased by 25 percent over the past 10 years, resulting in classroom sizes larger than 25 students.
