Phillips came through for resident of Laurence Harbor

I want to take this opportunity to thank Jim Phillips for his prompt response to my recent request for help in getting a pothole filled on Hillside Avenue in the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge.

Those of us who traverse Hillside Avenue every day have been doing battle with a number of potholes for the past few months. I met Mr. Phillips at a recent senior citizens meeting and told him of our long-lasting problem. The very next day the potholes were filled, and driving Hillside Avenue was much smoother.

If this is any indication of the type of mayor Jim Phillips will be, then I can only say that Old Bridge will be in good hands. Mr. Phillips showed great concern for our problem, and I have no doubt he will show the same concern for the people of Old Bridge should he be elected mayor in the November election.

There are numerous other issues that seniors in Old Bridge are concerned about, and Jim Phillips has his finger on the pulse of the people. The huge housing developments, traffic congestion, erratic taxes and more expensive township services need to be replaced with more senior housing, a better master plan, stabilized taxes and shared services with other communities in order to save money.

My friends and I will be supporting Jim Phillips wholeheartedly for mayor of Old Bridge. As someone once said, the proof is in the pudding. Jim Phillips delivered for us, and I’m sure he will deliver for the people of Old Bridge.
