Fund-raisers
Nov. 20

• The Spotswood High School Band is participating in a Kash for Kids fund-raising program that pays the band $2 for each empty inkjet or laser computer cartridge collected. Collection boxes are at the high school, Memorial School and KrisKell Creations Hair Salon, all Summerhill Road; Schoenly School, Kane Avenue; the Spotswood Public Library, Spotswood Post Office and Pulaski Bank, all Main Street. Cartridges should be placed in sealed plastic bags. Proceeds benefit the band. Fund-raiser will be ongoing throughout the year.


Nov. 21

• Fish dinner, sponsored by the United Methodist Women of Simpson United Methodist Church, 5:30-7 p.m., at the church, Route 516 and Owens Road, Old Bridge. Tickets: $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 4-12; youngsters under age 4 admitted free of charge. (732) 679-5361 or (732) 446-3271.


Nov. 22

• Holiday craft bazaar, sponsored by Carriage House Manor Nursing, Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Carriage House, 901 Ernston Road, Morgan section of Sayreville. Many holiday items offered are hand made by the residents. Local vendors will feature crafts, other merchandise. Live music at 1:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Residents Activities Fund. • Garage sale, sponsored by Sayreville-South Amboy Girl Scout Senior Troop No. 1593, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at a private home at 35 S. Edward St., Sayreville. Troop plans a trip to Savannah, Ga., the home of Juliette Low, founder the Girl Scouts, and to Orlando, Fla.


Nov. 23

• Vendor Explosion, to benefit the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, noon to 4 p.m., at Laughs and Crafts, 2695 Browntown Shopping Center, Suite 6, Route 516 (Gaub Road), Old Bridge. Discovery Toys, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Home Interiors and Gifts, Nubian Experience Candles, Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Avon, more. Door prizes. Call Betsey or Dawn at (732) 679-1401.


Nov. 25

• Bake auction, sponsored by the Sayreville Main Street Theatre Company, doors open at 7 p.m., auction begins at 7:30 p.m., at the Mickey Sedlak Recreation Center, Dolan Street, Sayreville.
