Obituaries
John Low

Mr. Low, 80, of Matawan, formerly of Old Bridge, died Dec. 16 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Surviving are his wife, Mildred M. Vreeland Low; four daughters, Peggy DeLuca, Constance Lawrence, Cassandra Low and Renee Low; three sisters, Edna, Frances and Dolores; a brother, Joseph; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Arrangements were under the direction of Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Frank A. Maluta

Mr. Maluta, 88, of Old Bridge died Dec. 19 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. He was employed at Union Carbide before his retirement. He was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Old Bridge. Mr. Maluta was predeceased by three wives, Margaret Maluta, Irene Maluta and Ann Maluta. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Michael Kohler of Barnegat; four stepdaughters; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, was in charge of arrangements.

Verna Ellen Lokeman Watts

Mrs. Watts, 49, of Old Bridge died Dec. 20 at J.F.K. Medical Center, Edison. She was predeceased by her father, Charles Lokeman. Mrs. Watts is survived by a son and daughter, Nicky Watts and Stacy Watts, both of Old Bridge; her mother, Eleanor Steinback Lokeman; a brother, Charles Lokeman of Arizona; a sister, Karla Murray of East Brunswick; and four grandchildren. Burial was at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. Arrangements were by Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick.

Mary T. Durski

Ms. Durski, 78, of Parlin died Dec. 22 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in South Amboy, she had lived there until moving to Parlin 10 years ago. Before retiring in 1999, Ms. Durski was a seamstress at Metuchen Sports Center for 10 years. Prior to that, she was a seamstress for Chas. Komar & Sons, South Amboy, for more than 30 years. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, South Amboy, and a member of the Sayreville Senior Citizens Wednesday and Thursday clubs. She was predeceased by a sister, Rose Brodzinski, and a brother, James Durski. Ms. Durski is survived by a daughter, Deborah Jones of Parlin; a sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Joseph Trepono of Edison; a brother, George Durski of Parlin; and two grandsons. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Mary’s Church, followed by interment at Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy. The Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy, was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Wladyko Chrzan

Mrs. Chrzan, 84, of Sayreville died Dec. 24 at home. Born in South River, she had been a resident of Sayreville for many years. Mrs. Chrzan was predeceased by her husband, Louis Chrzan, in 1975, and a brother, Walter Wladyko, in 2003. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, June and Leo Futia of Hudson, Ohio; a sister, Zena Wladyko of Sayreville; a brother, Nicholas Wladyko of West Virginia; and a grandson. Panahida services were held at the Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River, followed by burial at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, South River.

  Edna M. Waszczak Targonski

Mrs. Targonski, 85, of Sayreville died Dec. 24 at home. Mrs. Targonski was predeceased by her husband, Zigmont F. Targonski Sr., in 2002; and a son, John F. Targonski, in 1942. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Edward and Elaine Targonski of Cinnaminson, and Zigmont Targonski Jr. of Bordentown; two sisters, Sophie Galinski of South River and Pearl Kokoska of East Brunswick; two brothers, Edward Waszczak and John Waszczak, both of Florida; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, followed by burial at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Sayreville. The Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville, was in charge of arrangements.

Diane Budney Goldberg

Mrs. Goldberg, 42, of Parlin and formerly of South River, died Dec. 25 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. She was predeceased by her father, Stephen J. Budney. Mrs. Goldberg is survived by her husband, Abraham Goldberg; her mother, Rose Twardos Budney of South River; two sisters, Patricia Kambach of Spotswood and JoAnn Calvo of South River; a brother, Stephen Budney of Sayreville; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, followed by entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, South Brunswick. The Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River, was in charge of arrangements.

Shirley Gregor Ducsak

Mrs. Ducsak, 75, of the Morgan section of Sayreville, died Dec. 20 at home. She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen Ducsak, in 1988; and her sisters, Virginia Baranowski and Ruth Douglas. She is survived by two sons, Kevin Ducsak of Morgan and Bruce Ducsak of South Amboy. Arrangements were by The Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy.

Helen Enders Morgan

Mrs. Morgan, 81, of Old Bridge died Dec. 25 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Mrs. Morgan was predeceased by her husband, Roy Morgan, in 1965. Surviving are two sons, Roy Morgan of Spotswood and John Morgan of Las Vegas; four daughters, Helen Dawson of Florida, Gladys Butler of Las Vegas, and Joyce King and Deborah Santora, both of Old Bride; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, followed by burial at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. The Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, was in charge of arrangements.

Paula Supiszuck Kott

Mrs. Kott, 83, of Parlin and formerly of Old Bridge, died Dec. 26 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry, in 1980. Surviving are three daughters, Penelope Burkeson of North Brunswick, Diane Damanis of Belvedere, Ill., and Irene Ritz of Old Bridge; a sister, Sophie Supiszuck of Parlin; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Simpson United Methodist Church, Old Bridge, followed by entombment at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge. The Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Simpson United Methodist Church, Route 516 and Owens Road, Old Bridge 08857.

Josephine Borek Biagi

Mrs. Biagi, 84, of East Brunswick, died Dec. 29 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Mrs. Biagi is survived by her husband, Adolph Biagi; three daughters, Lorraine Mahoney of Branchburg, and Virginia Pleva and Julia Pearce, both of East Brunswick; three sisters, Julia Lanpher of Florida, Jenny Jakimetz of Queens, N.Y., and Catherine Goff of California; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by an 11 a.m. service at Holy Cross Burial Park Chapel, South Brunswick. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum.
