County will offer flu, pneumonia vaccinations

The Middlesex County Health Department will offer flu and pneumococcal vaccinations to county residents from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 2 at the Monroe Township Senior Center, 1 Municipal Plaza.

Flu shots will be administered on a first-come basis. While the vaccine is free of charge, Medicare will be billed where applicable — participants must bring their Medicare card to the center.

An appointment is required for pneumococcal vaccinations, which will be provided only to residents age 65 and older who have not previously received the vaccine.

Appointments may be made by calling the health department at (732) 745-3100, from 2-4 p.m., Monday-Friday. Medicare Part B will be billed.
