Freeholder director is dedicated, hard-working, nonpartisan

Media stories of the last few months concerning Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders Director David B. Crabiel have prompted me to share my experience concerning the man.

In my five years as mayor of Sayreville, I have found Freeholder Director David Crabiel to be a good and decent man, a dedicated and hard-working public servant. In my dealings with him, there has never been a question of politics because Sayreville elected a Republican mayor. Democrat David Crabiel has been utterly nonpartisan in all matters.

Always receptive when legitimate needs of the people have been presented to him, he has repeatedly helped fund projects for the people of Sayreville. And he demonstrated his continued, unwavering support just this past spring in helping our borough reclaim the National Lead site for much-needed development, after a decades-long battle against corporate pollution, stonewalling and deliberate inaction.

My experience with David Crabiel has shown me that he is honest and straightforward in helping the people of Sayreville and Middlesex County. Our relationship has been one based on mutual trust and respect, and together we strive for what is best for the common good — not just for the people of Sayreville, but for the county as a whole, a partnering in good government.
