Obituaries

John R. Coyle

Mr. Coyle, 48, of South Amboy, died Oct. 28 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was employed as a truck driver by Cosco Wholesale Corp., Dayton section of South Brunswick, and worked part time with Capitol Concrete, South Amboy. He was predeceased by his father, Charles. Surviving are his wife, Colleen; his mother, Helen Coyle of Centereach, N.Y.; a son, Anthony Ellison of Reading, Pa.; a daughter, Crystal Hart of Bryant, Ala.; three sisters, Joanne Cullinan, Ronnie Youngs and Geri Smith; a brother, Charles; a grandson; an uncle; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 424 E. 92nd St., New York, NY 10128.

Edward W. Winkler

Mr. Winkler, 83, of Brick, formerly of South River, died Oct. 27 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Chicopee Manufacturing, Milltown. He was the former owner of Hillside Liquor Store, Milltown. His wife, Sophie Wistuba Winkler, died in January, and two sons, Edward Winkler Jr. and Gary A. Winkler, both died in 2001. Surviving are a son, Wayne Winkler of Brick; four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.

Mary “Doris” Zemla

Mrs. Zemla, 77, of Old Bridge, died Nov. 8 at home. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Zemla. Surviving are a son, Zachary Scott Zemla of Little Silver; a daughter, Cynthia Steinbacher of Hazlet; a sister, Amelia Traut of Florida; and four grandchildren. Visitation is planned from 7-9 p.m. on Nov. 11 at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Nov. 12 at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment will follow in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Daniel Abraham Benjamin

Daniel, 17, of East Brunswick, formerly of Old Bridge, died Nov. 3 in Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was a student at East Brunswick High School, where he was a member of the percussion section of the school’s marching band. Surviving are his parents, Rebecca and Philip Benjamin; a sister, Hannah, at home; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Services were under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Institute for Children With Cancer and Blood Disorders, P.O. Stanley A. “Red” Domzal

Mr. Domzal, 76, of Sayreville, died Nov. 3 in New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home at Menlo Park, Edison. Prior to his retirement, he was a supervisor at DuPont Photo Products, Parlin section of Sayreville, where he worked for 38 years. His wife, Edna Szkodny Domzal, died in 2002. Surviving are a son, David M. Domzal of Sayreville, and several nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus School Endowment Fund, 225 MacArthur Ave., Sayreville, NJ 08872.

Clara Nielsen Seddon

Mrs. Seddon, 83, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Nov. 7 in Regency Park Nursing Center, Hazlet. Surviving are her husband, John W. Seddon Jr.; a son, John “Chris” Seddon of Freehold; a daughter, Suzanne Kilpatrick of the Morgan section of Sayreville; a brother-in-law, Joseph E. Seddon, and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Harrelson, both of Lake Orion, Mich.; and a grandson. Services were held at Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy. Interment was in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy.

Joseph P. Miranda

Mr. Miranda, 86, of Old Bridge, died Nov. 1 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Jean Caffrey Miranda; a son, Joseph of New York City; a daughter, Denise Owens of Old Bridge; and four grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Middletown.

Joseph P. Miranda

Mr. Miranda, 86, of Old Bridge, died Nov. 1 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Jean Caffrey Miranda; a son, Joseph of New York City; a daughter, Denise Owens of Old Bridge; and four grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Middletown.

Marcia A. Haber Lederer

Mrs. Lederer, 69, of Monroe, died Nov. 3 in New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York City. Surviving are her husband, Marshal; a son, Andrew of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two daughters, Cynthia Michelson of Oak Hill, Va., and Suzanne Slatkin of Potomac Falls, Va.; a brother, Eugene Haber of New York City; and four grandchildren. Services were held at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Interment was in Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the charity of one’s choice.

Mae Battaglia Quilantang

Mrs. Quilantang, 83, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Oct. 28 in Brierwood Care Center, Sayreville. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a senior companion at Foster Grandparents of Woodbridge Developmental Center. Her husband, Claro M. Quilantang, died in 1986. Surviving are two daughters, Agnes Acosta of Parlin and Lorada Newman of Staten Island, N.Y.; a sister, Josephine Campo of Staten Island; four granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.

Gary M. Sabo

Mr. Sabo, 38, of Old Bridge, died Nov. 1 in Old Bridge. He was employed by as a carpenter with Union Local No. 1006, Woodbridge. Surviving are his wife, Helena S. Pataky Sabo; two sons, Matthew and Andrew; his parents, Elaine and Charles Sabo of Manchester; a brother, Gregory Sabo of Jackson; his grandmother, Betty Sabo of the Port Reading section of Woodbridge; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass was offered at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Frances Picciolo

Mrs. Picciolo, 89, of Middletown, died Nov. 7 in Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Picciolo, and by a daughter, Josephine Ann Picciolo. Surviving are three sons, Frank Picciolo, Salvatore Picciolo and Thomas Picciolo, all of Monroe; a daughter, Josephine Agostinacchio of Middletown; a sister, Ann Natilli; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Entombment was in Woodbridge Memorial Park. Rosalie Mallory Ward

Mrs. Ward, 95, of the Morgan section of Sayreville, died Nov. 3 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are a daughter, Theresa Lovely of South Amboy; and three grandchildren, J. Robert, Ronald and Joanne Lovely. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy.
