Bandit’s Spring Bazaar on tap at animal shelter

  • Sayreville Pet Adoption Center, 1400 Main St., will hold its Bandit’s Spring Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 1. All proceeds will benefit the shelter’s spay/neuter fund.

    Bandit, a three-legged yellow Labrador retriever who is one of the shelter’s adoption success stories, will visit for the day to meet and greet guests. The event also will feature a flower and plant sale, refreshments, vendors, raffles, face painting and while-you-wait minigrooming for dogs.

    Chicken Dinner to raise

    funds for church roof

    The First Presbyterian Church of Sayreville, 172 Main St., will sponsor a Chicken Dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m. on May 14. Doors will open at 4:45 p.m. Takeouts will be available beginning at 5 p.m.

    The event will raise funds for a new church roof.

    Tickets cost $10 in advance; a limited number of tickets will be sold at the door for $12 each.

    Youth theater workshop

    scheduled in Sayreville

    Triple H Productions, Sayreville, will offer a summer youth theater workshop for students in kindergarten-eighth grades (students in grades 9-12 also are welcome) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Mondays-Saturdays, July 16-30, at St. Stanislaus Kostka School, MacArthur Avenue, Sayreville.

    All workshops will offer daily instruction in acting, movement, creative drama, improvisation/theatre games and play production.

    Registration deadline is May 23. Fee is $180, with $50 due at time of registration. A payment plan is available.

    sought for May 21 sale

    Vendors and crafters are needed for the Our Lady of Victory Columbiettes Spring Yard Sale set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 21 at the Knights of Columbus Hall parking lot, Washington Road, Parlin section of Sayreville.

    Space rental cost is $15; vendors and crafters must supply their own tables.
