Marilyn Matthews, daughter of Georgette and Gary Matthews of Old Bridge, recently received a doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. The recipient of the Conrad L. Wich Prize for exceptional work in medicinal chemistry and pharmacognosy, she also was admitted to the pharmaceutical sciences graduate program at the University of Maryland. She is a 1997 graduate of Old Bridge High School.

Denise Michelle Kopik, daughter of Josephine and Dennis Kopik of Old Bridge, has been awarded a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education, summa cum laude, from Kean University, Union.

Adena DeMonte, daughter of Davida and Arnold DeMonte of Old Bridge, recently graduated from The Theatre School of DePaul University, Chicago, where she earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in theatre studies, with minors in sociology and journalism. A theater critic and staff writer with The DePaulia, the university’s student newspaper, she spent her senior year interning with Emmy Award-winning investigative journalists and documentary filmmakers Carol Marin and Don Moseley of NBC5-TV, Chicago, and the Chicago Sun-Times. She is the media relations intern at Arena Stage, Washington, D.C., and will intern in the marketing and communications department at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Berkeley, Calif., for the 2005-06 season.

Holly Francy of Old Bridge has been awarded a bachelor of science degree in aeronautical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y.

Robert Bell, son of Kim and Michael Bell of Old Bridge, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Rutgers College, New Brunswick, where he is entering his sophomore year.

Colleen Stratton of Old Bridge was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Marist College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., where she is a junior majoring in business administration. Vice president of the college’s varsity cheerleaders, she also is a member of numerous business leadership organizations on campus.

Kyle Deutsch of Sayreville was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse (N.Y.) University.

Sonya Mazumdar of Old Bridge has been awarded a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y.
