Karen Dioses

Karen, 11, died April 20 at home. She was a fifth-grade student at Our Lady of Victories School, Sayreville. Surviving are her parents, Rose and Walter Dioses; a brother, Walter Dioses Jr., at home; her grandfather, Rene Dioses of Texas; and many other family members. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Leukemia Foundation, 1421 E. 12 Mile Road No. A, Madison Heights, MI 48071.

Joseph F. "Rab" Primka Jr.

Mr. Primka, 91, of Sayreville, died April 17 at home. Prior to his retirement, he was a foreman in the Photo Products Division at E.I. DuPont, Parlin section of Sayreville, where he worked for 43 years. Surviving are his wife, Concetta Vigilante Primka; two sisters, Mary Wilson of Spring Lake and Frances Kover of South Amboy; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Mary's Church, South Amboy. Entombment was in the church mausoleum.

Marie Malkowski Kornacki

Mrs. Kornacki, 77, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died March 31 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1989, she was employed by Blonder Tongue Labs, Old Bridge. Her husband, Frank Kornacki, died in 1989. Surviving are a son, John; two daughters, Barbara and Patricia; two brothers, Thomas and Anthony; a sister, Eleanor; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Services were held at Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy. Interment was in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia section of Woodbridge.

Angela "Nellie" Przybylowski Gorski

Mrs. Gorski, 88, of Sayreville, died April 17 at home. Her husband, William J., died in 1990. Surviving are a daughter, Arlene Matuszewski of Sayreville; a grandson, Robert, and a granddaughter, Nicole, both of Sayreville; and several nieces. Services were held at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA of Central New Jersey Hospice, 1100 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07712.

Elmer W. Pierson

Mr. Pierson, 88, of Spotswood, formerly of South River and Monroe, died April 15 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. Prior to his retirement in 1981, he was a millwright for National Lead Co., Sayreville, where he worked for 40 years. He was predeceased by a daughter, Kathryn Wales, who died in 1981, and by a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Pierson, who died in 1996. Surviving are his wife, Winifred Weiss Pierson; two sons, Richard Pierson of North Brunswick and Glenn D. Pierson of East Hanover; and four granddaughters. Services were held at Spotswood Reformed Church. Interment was in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Stella Trawinski Phillips

Mrs. Phillips, 89, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, formerly of Perth Amboy, died April 17 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. She was predeceased by a son, Ted Oblinski. Surviving are her husband, Sylvester Phillips; two stepsons, Frank Phillips of Knoxville, Tenn., and George Phillips of Edgewater, Fla.; a brother, Stanley Trawinski of Monroe; and a step-grandson. A Mass was offered at St. Stephen's Church, Perth Amboy. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin.

Anthony W. Hodges

Mr. Hodges, 53, of East Brunswick, formerly of Old Bridge, died April 19 in Rahway Hospital. Surviving are his wife, Eileen Higgins Hodges; three children, Carlina Hodges of Queens, N.Y., Courey Hodges of Staten Island, N.Y., and Laura Hodges of East Brunswick; his mother, Nora Burgher of Staten Island; two brothers, Robert Hodges of Pennsylvania and Otto Garcia of North Brunswick; and two sisters, Lynn Morri of Pennsylvania and Janice Aquafredda of Staten Island. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin section of Sayreville. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Edward S. Jackowski

Mr. Jackowski, 73, of Sayreville, died April 14 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by a grandson, Matthew Dunn. Surviving are his wife, Betty Walus Jackowski; four children, Kathleen Barone and Edward Jackowski, both of Sayreville, Nancy Dunn of the Sewell section of Mantua and Beth Schiliro of East Brunswick; three sisters, Hattie Schuberda of Florida and Natalie Wornowicz and Josephine Ciak, both of Sayreville; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Ernst Perkuhn

Mr. Perkuhn, 71, of East Brunswick, formerly of Spotswood, died April 18 at home. He was founder and coach of the Spotswood Kickers, the first borough-sponsored soccer team. His wife, Beate, died in 2005. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Peter and Bonnie of West Windsor and Udo of Edison; and two sisters, Wilma of Spencer, W.Va., and Alice of Munich, Germany. A private service was held at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Arrangements were under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick.

Cynthia G. MacKay Carson

Mrs. Carson, 58, of Spotswood, formerly of East Brunswick, died April 18 in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was a bookkeeper for the Cheesequake Village Association, Old Bridge. Her mother, Edelweiss MacKay, died in 2002. Surviving are a son, Albert Carson of North Carolina; two daughters, Angela Weimer of Tuckerton and Cathleen Winters of East Brunswick; her father, John McKay of East Brunswick; three brothers, Barry MacKay and John MacKay Jr., both of Monroe, and Drew MacKay of Spotswood; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and to the American Cancer Society.

George Bergeron

Mr. Bergeron, 72, of East Brunswick, died April 21 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Alice Kalisak Bergeron; a son, George L. of Bristol, Pa.; four daughters, Sheryl Bergeron and Lenette O'Kane, both of East Brunswick, and Ellen Zeller and Alice Higgins, both of South River; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Camangian, Dorothy Bergeron and Helen Bergeron; 14 grandchildren; a goddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Charles R. Metzger

Mr. Metzger, 62, of Old Bridge, died April 3 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. He was an auto painter with McDonagh Dodge, Metuchen. Surviving are his wife, Joan DelMestre Metzger; a daughter, Natasha Masi of Old Bridge; a sister, Margaret Biedrzycki of Milford, Pa.; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth.
