Spanish classes to begin at O.B. senior center
The Old Bridge Office on Aging will introduce a new "Introduction to Spanish" class beginning at noon on Aug. 18 at the George Bush Senior Center, in the municipal complex, Route 516 and Cottrell Road. Maru Keely will teach the class, which is designed for adults. The teaching technique will feature a few grammar concepts, but more emphasis will be placed on the construction of sentences and on speaking. Classes will be held for 45 minutes once a week. Chamber of Commerce sponsoring scholarships
The East Brunswick Regional Chamber of Commerce has announced it will offer $1,500 Dr. Michael and Marlene Nissenblatt Scholarships to post-graduate students enrolled in a U.S. medical school or an accredited school of acupuncture. Individuals must be a U.S. citizen, and New Jersey high school graduate with an interest in medicine and/or acupuncture or herbology. Altar Rosary Society to sponsor Peach Fest
Holy Trinity Altar Rosary Society will host a Peach Festival from 1-7 p.m. on Aug. 19 at the Holy Trinity Parish Center, 100 Main St., Helmetta. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children age 10 and under.
