Family offers thanks to Old Bridge community

We would like to express our thanks to everyone in Old Bridge who has been with us through this very difficult time of losing our daughter, Ashley Barton.

Losing Ashley was the most devastating thing that could have happened to our family, and we miss her desperately every day. It has given us so much comfort to feel the love and support that we have gotten from the Old Bridge community.

We would like to thank the Cheesequake Fire Department and the First Aid Squad. You must confront such terrible things every day, and you truly go unappreciated. We would also like to thank the members of the Old Bridge Police Department for all the help and support they have shown us. In particular, our thanks go to Police Chief Thomas Collow, Capt. Scott Dyson and Detective Richard Tulko. We would also like to thank the Old Bridge officers and those in our neighboring communities who participated in the police escort to Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. We were truly amazed and deeply touched by such a spectacular tribute to Ashley.

Thank you to Mayor James Phillips and Councilman Reginald Butler for all their support. Our thanks also to the Board of Education and everyone involved in the Old Bridge Township school system.

We would also like to thank the Township Council for voting in favor of the Spring Hill Road ordinance allowing no left turns onto Route 34. While we wouldn't want to see any businesses inconvenienced, we also wouldn't want to see any more deaths or injuries. Thank you to those members of the council who voted to pass the ordinance and to Carolynn Smoljan and other residents of Spring Hill Road who lent their support.

Last of all, thank you to all of our friends in Old Bridge and the surrounding communities who have been so supportive and continue to be there for us every day. We could not make it through this without all of you.

Tracy, Jon and Nicole Pulaski

and the rest of the family
