Residents' messages have been gratifying, humbling

I would like to publicly thank the people of Sayreville for their numerous cards, letters, phone calls and e-mails in support of my husband, Mayor Kennedy O'Brien, over the last several months and for the messages we continue to receive. We have read every one and are overwhelmed by your outpouring of support and expressions of appreciation for the job he is doing as your mayor.

My husband puts his heart into what he tries to do for you and for the town he loves, and hearing the recognition of that from so many of you is both gratifying and humbling. It's been a difficult time, and your kind words are a bright spot in every day. Please be assured of his continuing commitment to you and efforts on your behalf, and I ask that you continue to keep him in your prayers through next November.

Again, thanks so much, and may God bless you all.

Janice O'Brien
