Doris Owens Holon
Mrs. Holon, 74, of the Morgan section of Sayreville, died Dec. 1, 2006, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to her retirement in 1994, she was a sales associate at J.C. Penney, Woodbridge, where she worked for 30 years. Surviving are her husband, Edward F. Holon; a son, Jeffrey Holon of Sayreville; a daughter, Linda Nixon of Cary, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services were held at Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Edward Sandello
Mr. Sandello, 90, of Freehold, died Nov. 27, 2006, in Pinebrook Care Center, Manalapan. He was a self-employed restaurant owner. Surviving are his wife, Isabelle M.; a son, Michael Anthony Orlando of Old Bridge; a daughter, Michelle Marie Campagna of Manalapan; a sister, Faye Marion of the Bronx, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services were held at Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold.
Eleanor Porter Pintora Merkler
Mrs. Merkler, 90, of Old Bridge, died Nov. 20, 2006, in Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge. She was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Pintora; by her second husband, Henry Merkler; and by a nephew, Earl P. Brady. Surviving are a nephew, Frank Brady, and his wife, Cecelia, of East Brunswick; and a great-niece, Lisa Marie Brady. Services were held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Interment was in Bayview Cemetery, Jersey City.
Virginia Knight
Mrs. Knight, 82, formerly of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge, died Nov. 26, 2006, in Corrales, N.M. Her husband, Frank, died in 1994. Surviving are two sons, Bob Knight of El Cerrito, Calif., and Paul Knight of Corrales; a brother, William Michenfelder; and three grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Lawrence Church, Laurence Harbor. Interment was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange.
Frank P. Ambrosy
Mr. Ambrosy, 78, of East Brunswick, formerly of Woodbridge, died Nov. 19, 2006, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Stam Ambrosy; three sons, Gary Ambrosy of East Brunswick, David Ambrosy of North Brunswick and Marc Ambrosy of Middletown; two daughters, Patricia Conner of Manasquan and Lisa DiLouie of Middletown; three brothers, Albert Ambrozy of Woodbridge, John Ambrozy of Sayreville and Edward Ambrozy of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Jenny Pilus of Woodbridge; and 10 grandchildren. Services were held at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
John M. Koslowski
Mr. Koslowski, 61, of Spotswood, died Nov. 27, 2006, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was the owner and operator of Kay Bee Builders, Spotswood, for the past 40 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Victoria and Casmir Koslowski. Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline Koslowski; two sons, John M. Jr. of Jackson and Joseph M. of Sayreville; a daughter, Jennifer Lawless of the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick; three brothers, Steven Koslowski of Spotswood, Frank Koslowski of East Windsor and Richard Koslowski of Easton, Pa.; and five grandchildren. Mr. Rebele, 80, of East Brunswick, died Nov. 28, 2006, at home. He was predeceased by three infant daughters. Surviving are his wife, Rosemarie Carroll Rebele; six sons, Walter Rebele III of Wentworth, N.H., Dr. James Rebele of Pittsburgh, Robert Rebele and Edward Rebele, both of Old Bridge, John Rebele of East Brunswick and Thomas Rebele of Spotswood; five daughters, Carol Brunit of Plumsted, Rosemarie McNamara and Mary Albecker, both of Monroe, Barbara Clark of East Brunswick and Eileen McFarlane of the Robbinsville section of Washington Township; a brother, William Rebele of Pawtucket, R.I.; 33 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Leo Hogan
Mr. Hogan, 82, of Piscataway, died Nov. 30, 2006, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. A daughter, Elaine Hogan Klacik, died in 1974. Surviving are his wife, Norma Aversa Hogan; a son, Christopher Hogan of Easton, Pa.; three daughters, Cheryl White of Denville, and Norma Masessa and Patricia Lewis, both of Piscataway; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
Theresa A. Safner Daniewicz
Mrs. Daniewicz, 76, of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, formerly of Milltown, died Dec. 4, 2006, in Bayshore Health Care, Holmdel. Her husband, Walter Daniewicz, died in 1994. Surviving are a son, Ronald Daniewicz of Keyport; a daughter, Kathleen De La Villa of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two sisters, Ann Bruni of Spotswood and Joann Thompson of Largo, Fla.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Entombment was in Holmdel Mausoleum.
Agnes Ledford Voorhees
Mrs. Voorhees, 83, of Monroe, formerly of Edison, died Dec. 1, 2006, in Cranbury Center, Monroe. Her husband, Garrett W. Voorhees Jr., died in January. Surviving are a son, Garrett W. Voorhees III, and his wife, Lynn, of South Brunswick; a brother, Emanuel Ledford of Oakwood, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A service was held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Florence Raneri Nugent
Mrs. Nugent, 76, of Old Bridge, died Nov. 17, 2006, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. A son, Thomas Nugent Jr., died in 2004. Surviving are her husband, Thomas Nugent Sr.; her mother, Josephine Baker of Elizabeth; four sons, Robert Nugent, Kevin Nugent, Mark Nugent and David Nugent, all of Old Bridge; three daughters, Susan Curran of Old Bridge, Debbie McCauley of Marlboro and Linda Nugent of East Brunswick; a sister, Grace Raneri of Newark; a daughter-in-law, Beth Nugent of Helmetta; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
Hazel Watts
Mrs. Watts, 76, of Monroe, died Nov. 17, 2006, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Fred Watts, died in 1996. Surviving are two daughters, Karen Junquet of Monroe and Linda Parillo of South River; and five grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was private. Mrs. Garrabrant, 77, of Monroe, formerly of East Brunswick, died Dec. 4, 2006, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Garrabrant, in 1996; a son, Donald, in 1999; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann, in 1961; and a grandchild, Edward William III. Surviving are a son, Edward W. Garrabrant of South Brunswick; three daughters, Joanne Childs of Easton, Pa., Susan Garrabrant of Monroe and Deborah Krypel of Helmetta; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A Mass will be offered on Dec. 7 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
