Jan. 18-31

+ Wounded Warrior Project Drive, sponsored by the Spotswood High School History Club and Octagon Community Service Club. Project provides returning amputee and wheelchair veterans (who have served in the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan and other locations around the world) with a backpack filled with personal and other needed items upon their arrival at a military hospital in the United States. Contents of each backpack cost $99. Pack will display a luggage tag noting name and address of sponsor. Donations may be given to club officers or left in Mary Dempsey's or Frank Yusko's mailbox at the school, Summerhill Road. www.woundedwarriorproject.org.

Jan. 19

+ Tricky Tray, sponsored by Spotswood High School DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), doors open at 5:30 p.m., event begins at 7:30 p.m., at the high school, Summerhill Road. Snow date: Feb. 2. Limited tickets cost $5 in advance, $7 at the door. Participants must be 18 years of age. Alcohol not permitted. Free childcare available. (732) 723-2278.

+ Spaghetti Dinner, sponsored by the Milltown Lions Club, 5-8 p.m., at the Milltown Senior Citizens Center, Violet Terrace. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, $2 for children. Wine, beer, soft drinks available. Proceeds benefit the visually impaired. (732) 329-7600.

+ Care Night Tricky Tray and Bingo, sponsored by the Sayreville Middle School PTO, doors open at 6 p.m. for the tricky tray, bingo begins at 7 p.m., at the school, Washington Road. Admission: canned food item for the local food bank. Prizes at the sports raffle table: New York Jets football autographed by the team; New York Giants poster signed by Tiki Barber; two tickets to a New Jersey Nets basketball game; New Jersey Devils puck autographed by No. 9, Zach Parise; New York Rangers photocard signed by Jed Ortmeyer; Philadelphia Eagles autographed picture, No. 88, Mike Bartrum; Rutgers Basketball "Sixth Man" T-shirt; four tickets to Newark Bears, Somerset Patriots, Lakewood Blue Claws, Trenton Thunder baseball games; Buffalo Bills team picture.

+ Comedy Café, to benefit the Sayreville Main Street Players, doors open at 7:30 p.m., event begins at 8 p.m., at the Sayreville Main Street Theatre, 3018 Bordentown Ave., Parlin section of Sayreville. Song, dance, comic antics. All proceeds benefit the SWMHS Marching Unit.
