Obituaries Gloria V. DeBenedetto Fehl Mrs. Fehl, 81, of East Brunswick, formerly of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Jan. 17, 2007, at home. Her husband, William S. Fehl, died in 1993. Surviving are seven children, William Fehl, Michael Fehl and Ronald Fehl, all of East Brunswick, Stephen Fehl of the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick, Laraine Dunwald of Jackson, Robert Fehl of Old Bridge and Donald Fehl of Edison; a sister, Marie Steffen of Beaufort, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick. Angelina "Angie" Emanuelo Giunta Mrs. Giunta, 82, of South Amboy, died Jan. 17, 2007, in Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice, Edison. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress with Reliable Sportswear, South River. Before that, she worked at Finkelstein's, South Amboy. Her husband, Philip Giunta, died in 1984. Surviving are two sons, Anthony Giunta of Freehold and Michael Giunta of Montclair; two daughters, Catherine Martin of Middlesex and Graceanne Giunta of South Amboy; two brothers, Tony and Alfred Emanuelo, both of Wheatley Heights, N.Y.; a sister, Sarah Pezzino of Lindenhurst, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary's Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Christ Church Cemetery, also South Amboy. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Amboy First Aid Squad, St. Mary's Church or Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice.
Thomas F. Longo Mr. Longo, 73, of Old Bridge, died Jan. 18, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Longo of Manalapan, and a son, Michael of the Port Reading section of Woodbridge. Services were held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Ellen Hornung Mrs. Hornung, 101, of the Cheesequake Village section of Old Bridge, died Jan. 28, 2007, in Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge. Her husband, John Hornung, died in 1964. Surviving is a son, John M. Hornung of Brielle. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in St. Raymond's Cemetery, the Bronx, N.Y.
Sylvia Sternlicht Rauch Mrs. Rauch, 93, of East Brunswick, died Jan. 21, 2007, in Summerhill Nursing Home, Old Bridge. Her husband, Harry Rauch, died in 1998. Surviving are a daughter, Roberta Fachler, and her husband, Lawrence, of East Brunswick; a son, Norman Rauch, and his wife, Dr. Roselyn Rauch, of Washington Township; two sisters, Miriam Warmbrand and Shirley Decker, both of Rego Park, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Floral Park Cemetery, Dayton section of South Brunswick. William E. Swirk Mr. Swirk, 83, of North Brunswick, died Jan. 12, 2007, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Shenandoah, Pa., he resided in Sayreville for more than 40 years, prior to relocating to North Brunswick three years ago. He was a teamster at Johanna Farms, Flemington, for 45 years, retiring 18 years ago. Prior to that, he was employed at Puritan Dairy, Perth Amboy. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick. He was a member of the Sayreville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4699, and South River American Legion Post No. 214; and life member of the South River Benevolent Protective Order of Elks. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen B. Trzaska Swirk in 2002; two brothers, Francis and Joseph Swirk; and two sisters, Bernadette Porsi and Evelyn Haouck. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Joseph Paparatto of North Brunswick; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Church. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick. Arrangements were by Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River.
F. Dianne Whitworth Donnelly Mrs. Donnelly, 65, of Old Bridge, died Jan. 17, 2007, at the Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice, Edison. Born in Marianna, Ark., she had lived in Cliffside Park before moving to Old Bridge 38 years ago. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, South River, where she was also an active volunteer for the Women of Holy Trinity and Project Linus. Mrs. Donnelly was predeceased by her husband, John Donnelly, in 1991. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Candice Donnelly of Edison, Jeff and Susan Donnelly of East Brunswick, and Michael and Marcie Donnelly of Old Bridge; a brother, Michael Whitworth of Elk Grove, Calif.; a sister, Marcelle Grabowski of Sacramento, Calif.; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, followed by burial at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Memorial Fund (with "Dianne Donnelly" as the memo), 90 Leonardine Ave., South River 08882.
Gary M. Matthews Mr. Matthews, 66, of Old Bridge, formerly of Middletown, died Jan. 15, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 2005, he was a consultant for more than 20 years with Priority Trucking Co., Milltown. Surviving are his wife, Georgette Kyriakides Matthews; three daughters, Dr. Marilyn Matthews of Baltimore, Diane Kyle of Huntington, Md., and Christine Matthews of Alexandria, Va.; a brother, William of Lansing, Mich.; and three grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Cremation was private. Michael J. Yuhas Jr. Mr. Yuhas, 39, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died Jan. 9, 2007, at home. Born in Red Bank, he resided in Matawan prior to relocating to Cliffwood Beach six years ago. He was a roofer at Local No. 4, Parsippany, the past 20 years. He served with the U.S. Army during peacetime. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Wilson Oxley of Cliffwood Beach; a daughter, Raycheal Yuhas of Cliffwood Beach; a son, Michael W. Yuhas of Cliffwood Beach; his grandmother, Eleanor Wilson of Union Beach; a brother, John Lewis of Matawan; and his fiancee, Rhonda Kuhn of Cliffwood Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Interment was at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Keyport. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
