Bone-marrow drive set for temple member

Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple will hold a drive to find a possible bone-marrow donor for temple member Alan Rubinfeld from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 11 at the synagogue, 222 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick.

Rubinfeld has leukemia that has resisted chemotherapy. He is left with only one option: a successful bone-marrow transplant.

Eligible donors must be between the ages of 18-60 and in general good health. The test consists of a swab of cells from inside the cheek; no blood tests are required. Potential donors are more likely to be successful if they are of Eastern European Jewish ethnic ancestry.

For more information, call the synagogue office at (732) 545-6484 or log on to www.aemt.net.
