Organizers aim to bring towns together to share in carnival This letter is in response to the letter to the editor from Pete Trabucco, "St. Ambrose Carnival Will Truly Be Missed," that appeared in the March 1 issue of the Suburban. The carnival at St. Ambrose was a yearly event anticipated by members of many local communities and schools. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to the St. Ambrose Carnival. Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood, views this as a closing of one chapter of county history and as an opportunity to write another. After 35 years, Immaculate Conception Church and the town of Spotswood are welcoming back what we expect to be the annual Immaculate Conception Carnival. The carnival will take place Wednesday, June 13, through Sunday, June 17, on the backdrop of DeVoe Lake. The parishioners of Immaculate Conception Church have revived the carnival for many of the reasons cited in Mr. Trabucco's letter. The carnival is an opportunity for friends and neighbors to share the celebration with their families as well as a chance for the surrounding communities of Monroe, Helmetta, East Brunswick, Jamesburg and others to share a local, family-friendly event together. We look forward to bringing the communities together and especially to welcoming those who attended the annual St. Ambrose Carnival. In the spirit of community, we invite all to share in what we hope to be a truly special event.
