How many times must courtesy busing be defeated?

This letter is in reference to the article titled "Busing Out of Budget; School Tax to Increase" that appeared in the March 8 issue of the Suburban.

Apparently, our politicos just don't understand or they defiantly refuse to accept the voters' 2-1 margin decision last year that defeated courtesy busing. Rather than accepting the will of the people, Board of Education members now insist on presenting the question again on the April school-election ballot.

Why is this matter even being revisited at all? Does the board think that perhaps the taxpaying voters accidentally pressed the wrong button? Do they think that the taxpaying voters experienced a recent epiphany that enlightened them to the fact that maybe they aren't already paying high enough taxes? I seriously doubt it.

The matter was decided on last year by residents who expressed their frustration with overburdensome, burgeoning taxes.

The voters have already spoken - it's time to listen.
