Old Bridge Parks and Recreation will hold a Volunteer Youth Coaches Certification Class (VCTA) on March 28 at the Civic Center, from 7-10 p.m. Cost is $35 per person (cash only). Registration starts at 6:30 p.m. Please bring a pen or pencil. For more information call (732) 721-5600, ext. 4999.

The U10 Old Bridge Thunder captured first place in the 5-v-5 U10 Girls Division at the Tab Ramos Soccer Complex by defeating the NJSA 04 Power II 3-1 on Sunday. The Thunder played extremely well the whole indoor season, posting an undefeated 10-0 record and outscoring their opponents by a 41-11 margin. Goalkeeper Gina Colamonico, fullbacks Nicole Velez, Vanessa Mantione, Angelique Giglio and Alyssa Kramer, and strikers Samantha Potts, Alexis Suarez, Tanvi Lodhia, Kristina Hourican, Meaghan Kenny and Alexandria D'Acunto led the Thunder with spirited play throughout the 10 weeks of the winter league.

The Thunder is looking for one to two girls for this season, and to try out for next season when the team plays full-sided soccer.

The team trains two to three times per week, and will play in four to five quality tournaments in the winter and spring seasons. The team plays in MOSA Premier, where they have a first- and second-place finish.

All coaches are state licensed, two played college and their trainer has played in Europe. If interested, contact Chuck Mantione at (732) 241-2441.
