Adult, youth programs coming to O.B. Library

A variety of upcoming programs are planned for the remainder of the month at the Old Bridge Public Library Main Branch, Route 516 and Cottrell Road.

The schedule is as follows:

+ March 22 at 7 p.m. - Science Fiction Book Discussion, "Eden" by Stanislaw Lem;

+ March 23 at 1:30 p.m. - "Senior Fridays: Happy Birthday, Joan Crawford," led by librarian Allan M. Kleiman;

+ March 24 and 31, 10 a.m. to noon - free math assistance (SAT preparation, homework help and activities to keep one's mind in its best math shape) for middle-school and high-school students, registration not required;

+ March 24 and 31 at 11 a.m. - Family Storytime, open to all ages;

+ March 24 at 1:30 p.m. - a concert with The Wag, an upbeat four-piece pop band based in Middletown;

+ March 25 at 1:30 p.m. - "New Jersey in the Civil War," with John Covert of the 27th Regiment New Jersey Volunteer Company F, a re-enactment group that specializes in programs for groups interested in learning about the Civil War and the participation of troops from New Jersey;

+ March 26 at 11 a.m. - "Computer Class: E-mail Basics," class size limited, register in advance at the information desk or by calling (732) 721-5600, ext. 5033;

+ March 26, 4:30-6:30 p.m. - Weekly Chess Play for grades 1-12, beginners and advanced players welcome, free instruction available for youngsters in grades 1-6, call (732) 721-5600, ext. 5028;

+ March 27 at 7 p.m. - Nonfiction Book Discussion Group, "Undaunted Courage" by Stephen Ambrose;

+ March 29 at 11 a.m. - "Computer Class: Internet Basics," class size limited, register in advance at the information desk or by calling (732) 721-5600, ext. 5033;

+ March 29 at 1 p.m. - Crafting Club meeting;

+ March 30 at 1:30 p.m. - "Senior Fridays: Music and Song," led by Mary Ellen O'Brien;

+ March 31 at 1:30 p.m. - "Women and Tea in the Victorian Era," high tea with food and tea historian Judith Krall-Russo, featuring information on how tea had an impact on upper-class and working-class women and affected women's social events, dress styles and health.
