Elizabeth "Carol" DeFilippo

Mrs. DeFilippo, 66, of The Villages, Fla., formerly of Old Bridge, died March 11, 2007. Surviving are her husband, Louis DeFilippo; three sons, Michael DeFilippo and Robert DeFilippo, both of Old Bridge, and Dominick DeFilippo of North Bergen; two brothers, Harry Hollins of Bud, W.Va., and Deward Brewer of Boswell, Fla.; a sister, Vicki Shrewsberry of Bud; and four grandchildren. A service was held at Beyers Funeral Chapel, Lady Lake, Fla. Interment was in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County Foundation, P.O. Samy A. Ghaly

Mr. Ghaly, 50, of South Amboy, died Feb. 21, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Gehan; a son, Maikel, and a daughter, Sandy. Services were held at St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church, Holmdel. Arrangements were under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Home, Jersey City.

William Walter Macko

Mr. Macko, 60, of Sayreville, died March 6, 2007, in Willow Creek Care Center, Somerset section of Franklin. His father, Alex Macko, died in 1982. Surviving are his mother, Stella Samuel Macko of Sayreville; a sister, Patricia Cejner of Long Branch; a brother, Robert Macko of Wall; and five nieces and nephews, Christine Gozick, Andrea Sanchez, Joanne Cejner, Jill Macko and Timothy Macko. Services were held at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Cremation was private.

Edmond James Cogland

Mr. Cogland, 76, of Old Bridge, died March 1, 2007, at home. He was the owner of Ad-Lib Advertising Inc., Old Bridge, for more than 30 years. His wife, Dolores, died in 2006. Surviving are three sons, Kenneth Cogland, and his wife, Stacey, Donald Cogland, and his wife, Lisa, and Gary Cogland, and his wife, Nancy, all of Old Bridge; and seven grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Old Bridge. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury NJ 07702.

Peter J. Deer

Mr. Deer, 79, of Sayreville, died Feb. 26, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are his wife, Diana Cameron Deer; two daughters, Noelle and Kate Deer of North Bergen; and a brother, Robert Deer of Florida. A memorial Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Thomas E. Chuilli

Mr. Chuilli, 93, of South Amboy, died March 6, 2007, in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was the owner/operator of Shore Fishery and Oceanview Seafood, Aberdeen. His wife, Agnes Ferren Chuilli, died in 2001. Surviving are a daughter, Donna Kennedy of South Amboy; a son, Thomas E. Chuilli of Matawan; a brother, Ernest Chuilli of Florida; a sister, Antoinette Fischer of Flemington; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary's Church, South Amboy. Cremation was private.

Josephine Lajewski Samuel

Mrs. Samuel, 82, of Sayreville, died March 7, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1986, she was employed for 15 years as a cafeteria worker with the Sayreville Board of Education. Her husband, Leo Samuel, died in 1995. Surviving are two daughters, Peggy Garbowski, and her husband, John, and Carol Miara, and her husband, Stan "Buffer," all of Sayreville; three sons, Jeffrey, and his wife, Gwen, of Ewing, Timothy, and his wife, Siobhan, of Folsom, Calif., and Dr. Christopher, and his wife, Beth, of Bedford, Pa.; two sisters, Jean McCarthy of Chandler, Ariz., and Bernadine Plewa of Sayreville; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Richard "Bud" Fenwick III

Mr. Fenwick, 82, of the Cheesequake section of Old Bridge, died March 13, 2007, in Victoria House Nursing Home, Matawan. He was the owner/operator of Cheesequake Garage, Old Bridge, and Deep Run Repair and Maintenance Corp., Marlboro Airport. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Sommers Fenwick. Surviving are his life partner, Ellie VanPelt of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Fenwick Bockman of Fort Myers Beach, Fla.; a nephew and a niece, Everett Fenwick Jr. and Christine Kiebach; and several cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. Arrangements were under the direction of Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick.

Mildred Grimaldi Nazzaro

Mrs. Nazzaro, 79, of Old Bridge, died March 11, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are her husband, Peter Nazzaro; a daughter, Barbara Rossi, and her husband, Anthony, of Old Bridge; two brothers, Lucian Grimaldi of the Lawrenceville section of Lawrence and Albert Grimaldi of Pennsylvania; a sister, Ann Portizo of California; and a grandson. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Nancy Incorvaia

Mrs. Incorvaia, 85, of Old Bridge, died March 1, 2007, in Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge. Her husband, Tony Incorvaia, died in 1987. Surviving are a son, John Incorvaia, and his wife, Elaine, of Manalapan; a daughter, Carmela DeLuca of Plainfield, Pa.; two sisters, Anna Lore of Staten Island, N.Y., and Connie Spignolo of North Babylon, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Ocean View Cemetery, Staten Island.

Cynthia Fleig Jones

Mrs. Jones, 44, of South Amboy, died March 11, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Surviving are her husband, Michael; a son, Michael W.; two sisters, Marcy Duschok of Bradenton, Fla., and Debbie Hunter of North Richland Hills, Texas. Services were held at Gundrum Service Home for Funerals. South Amboy.

Renee Freedman

Mrs. Freedman, 78, of Manalapan, died Feb. 24, 2007, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in New York City, she had lived in Old Bridge for many years before moving to Manalapan in 1987. She was a teacher's aide in the East Brunswick school system. Mrs. Freedman was a member of the Temple Beth Ohr Sisterhood, Old Bridge. She was also a volunteer for the Center for Holocaust Studies at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown, and the Reading for the Blind program, Old Bridge. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Arnold Freedman, in 1996. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Eric Freedman of Long Branch, and Mitchell and Tracey Freedman of Deptford Township, Gloucester County; a daughter and son-in-law, Robbi and Adam Balin of Freehold; a brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Helen Rothenberg of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and two granddaughters, Marta and Andie. Services were held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan, followed by entombment at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Shiva was observed at the Balin residence. Memorial donations may be made to the Center for Holocaust Studies at Brookdale Community College, 765 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft 07738.

Ronald F. Strzalkowski

Mr. Strzalkowski, 52, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died March 6, 2007, at home. Surviving are his wife, Diane Strzalkowski; two sons, Ronald L. Strzalkowski, and his wife, Bianca, of Yuma, Ariz., and Theodore F. Strzalkowski of San Francisco; a daughter, Karen M. Strzalkowski of Parlin; four sisters, Susan Kollar of Schenectady, N.Y., Chris Hartman of Sayreville, Frances Neber of Apopka, Fla., and Carol Hill of Milford, Pa.; and two grandsons. A memorial service was held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Central New Jersey Council, www.cnjcbsa.org.
