Cops: Man threatened to start fire

MONROE - A township man was charged with making terroristic threats March 13, as he allegedly told police that he planned to set a bar on fire.

Police arrested Frank Baranoski, 40, of Tyndale Avenue, at 1:10 a.m. after a police officer on routine patrol on Spotswood Englishtown Road found him walking and carrying what appeared to be a gasoline can. The officer, Christopher Mullen, turned his car around and approached the subject, but found he had nothing in his hands.

Mullen checked the area and found the gas can hidden behind a tree. Police said Baranoski then told the officer that he had been assaulted inside a nearby bar and that he was intending to burn down the building.

Police said the gas can contained a small amount of gasoline.

Baranoski was transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center, North Brunswick, and held in lieu of $15,000 bail.
