Kathleen C. Matthews Vail

Mrs. Vail, 47, of Old Bridge, died March 26, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Vail, and by her father, William Matthews. Surviving are her mother, Barbara Osinski Matthews of Old Bridge; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Dawn, also of Old Bridge; a brother, William Matthews of South Bound Brook; and five sisters, Theresa Paris of Deptford, Coleen Eppinger, Barbara Lenner and Linda Karecki, all of Old Bridge, and Nancy Kneipp of Keansburg. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.

Donna E. Schmidt

Mrs. Schmidt, 51, of Pennsylvania, formerly of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died March 20, 2007, in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa. She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Elizabeth Schmidt. Surviving are a son, David Schmidt of Parlin; and four sisters, Barbara Spishock of Keansburg, Eileen Connor and Karen Gidaro, both of Parlin, and Dorothy Wood of Pennsylvania. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Geraldine Angelina Petrignani

Mrs. Petrignani, 88, of Manalapan, formerly of Hoboken and the Sayrewood South section of Old Bridge, died March 15, 2007, in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Her husband, Philip Anthony Petrignani, died in 2000. She also was predeceased by five sisters and a brother. Surviving are a son, Philip Petrignani of Hackettstown; a daughter, Cheryl Bracht of Manalapan, with whom she had lived; a sister, Eleanor Taylor of Hoboken; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan. Interment was in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.

Alfred "Freddie" Klimek

Mr. Klimek, 87, of Sayreville, died March 25, 2007, at home. Prior to his retirement in 1982, he was employed as a chemical operator with E.I. Dupont Fabric and Finish Division, Parlin section of Sayreville, where he worked for 39 years. Surviving are his wife, Josephine Kwiecinski Klimek; a daughter, Arline Klimek of Sayreville; two sons, Gerard Klimek, and his wife, Mary, of Middletown and Alfred state; two granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, also Sayreville.

Stanley C. Kowaleski

Mr. Kowaleski, 52, of South Amboy, died March 28, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his parents, Irene and Stanley B. Kowaleski of South Amboy; three sisters, Camille Midura, and her husband, Ted, of Sayreville, Colette Kowaleski of Brick and Celeste Fox, and her husband, Ronald, of the Parlin section of Sayreville; and several nieces, nephews and great-nephews. A Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin.

Anna E. Barmwater

Mrs. Barmwater, 98, of Raleigh, N.C., formerly of Old Bridge, died March 24, 2007, in University Health Center, Raleigh. Her husband, Gilbert A.F., died in 1996. Surviving are a son, Gilbert A., and his wife, Ruth, of Raleigh; and two grandchildren. Services were held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Brooklyn, N.Y. Irene G. Corson

Ms. Corson, 81, of Monroe, formerly of Old Bridge and East Brunswick, died March 23, 2007, in Cranbury Care Center. She was predeceased by her parents, Herbert F. and Gertrude Corson. Surviving is a friend, Kathleen Jollie of Farmington, Conn. Funeral services were private. Arrangements were under the direction of Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Jean M. Doliva Sudnick

Mrs. Sudnick, 93, of South River, died March 23, 2007, in JFK Medical Center, Edison. Her husband, Joseph T., died in 2002. Surviving are a son, Joseph M., and his wife, Lucille, of Edison; two granddaughters, Suzanne Cogswell, and her husband, Andrew, of Beachwood and Dr. Kathleen Sudnick-Albert, and her husband, Dr. Ted Albert, of Auburn, Ala.; a grandson, Joseph M. Jr., of Edison; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Linda M. Hummell

Ms. Hummell, 54, of Monroe, formerly of Sayreville and Fairless Hills, Pa., died March 29, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her father, Loren Hummell. Surviving are two children, Brian Giordano, and his wife, Dianna, of Mount Laurel and Tammy Giordano of Delran; her mother, Leona Hummell of Sayreville; two sisters, Lorraine Rock of Monroe and Lou Ann Bara of Sayreville; two nieces, and two nephews; and her companion, Robert Mehlberger of Fairless Hills. Services were held at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Cremation was private.

Gustave Edward Liptak

Mr. Liptak, 83, of Spotswood, formerly of Old Bridge, died March 27, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are his wife, Philomena McInerney Liptak; two sons, Donald Martin Liptak, and his wife, Monica, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Patrick Joseph Liptak, and his wife, Donna, of Old Bridge; a daughter, Katherine Tranotti, and her husband, Steven, of Bangor, Pa.; and four grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Hazel C. Sigel Meyer

Mrs. Meyer, 73, of Sayreville, died March 21, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Surviving are her husband, Richard E. Meyer; a son, Allen of Sayreville; a daughter, Lynn of Ocala, Fla.; a brother, Harry W. Sigel of Hawaii; and two granddaughters. Services were held at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Mario Calantoni

Mr. Calantoni, 86, of Milltown, died March 22, 2007, at home. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he was employed as a machinist at Parker Hannifin, North Brunswick, where he worked for 30 years. Surviving are his wife, Mary Michael Calantoni; two daughters, Carol Calantoni of Milltown and Barbara Harto of Dornsfife, Pa; two sons, Mario of Whittier, Calif., and James of North Brunswick; a brother, James of the Parlin section of Sayreville; a sister, Rose Matijcow of Perth Amboy; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services were held at Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. Entombment was in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.

Joseph A. "Buddy" Cantela

Mr. Cantela, 79, of South River, formerly of North Brunswick, died March 28, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was superintendent at the Middlesex County Fire Academy, Sayreville. Surviving are his wife, Jean; a daughter, Donna Zier, and her husband, John, of North Brunswick; a brother, James Cantela, and his wife, Arleen, of Wyckoff; a sister, Angie Catanese of Seward, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Anthony Stumpo of Johnstown, Pa.; a grandson and a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church, New Brunswick. Entombment was in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.

Sarellen Raskin

Mrs. Raskin, 74, of Princeton, formerly of Old Bridge, died March 16, 2007, in Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. Surviving are her husband, Jack C. Raskin; four sons, Thomas Raskin of North Brunswick, John Raskin of Pennington, Peter Raskin of Southern Shores, N.C., and James Raskin of Ellicott City, Md.; a brother, William Stivers of the New Egypt section of Plumsted; a sister, Patricia Siek of Weston, Mass.; and seven grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, Pa.
