The Old Bridge Junior Knights Youth Hockey program will hold open tryouts April 9-11 for its 2007-08 Bantam-level teams at the Old Bridge Sports Arena. Bantam minor tryouts will be held 7-8 p.m., followed by Bantam Major tryouts 8:15-9.15 p.m. For more information, call (732) 727-5600, ext. 4025 or (732) 887-6384.

The Old Bridge Hustlers 12U girls travel softball team captured the Tri-State Classic Championship last weekend. The Hustlers beat Toms River in their first game 9-0. In game two, the Hustlers topped West Windsor 5-0. The Hustlers won the championship game 4-0 against a tough Brewster, N.Y., team.

Beth Ann Hyland (East Brunswick), Carsin Conor and Paige Wiatroski pitched back-to-back-to-back shutouts over the three-game stretch. The Hustlers infield was secured by Paige Pentland catching, Natalie Norcutt at first, Gabby Siryj (East Brunswick) at second, Sydney Scheiner at shortstop and Paige Wiatroski at third. Outfielders Emma Rivera, Casey Raymond, Jen Klein (East Brunswick), Amanda Durham and Taylor Sheridan provided great defense. Brittany Dzieciolowski was with the team in spirit. The Hustlers improved to 8-1-1 for the season.

The Old Bridge Yankees 12U travel baseball team is looking for players to complete its 2007 roster - specifically the positions of pitcher, shortstop and outfield. The O.B. Yankees are fully sponsored and registered with the U.S.A.B.L. for the 2007 spring and summer season. In addition, they will be competing in selected tournaments throughout 2007.
