Free training offered to join O.B. CERT

Residents interested in enrolling in training to join the Old Bridge Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) may contact the volunteer organization. Those age 18 and older will complete a free 20-hour training course covering topics such as disaster preparedness, fire suppression, basic medical aid, search and rescue operations, and disaster psychology. They will stand ready to help their families, neighbors and community should an emergency arise.

CERT members can take advantage of advanced training, such as CPR, first aid, shelter management and incident command, offered at various times throughout the year. CERT also holds monthly meetings at the Bush Senior Center, where educational programs are presented to refresh and enhance members' skills.

Those seeking more information about CERT or to enroll in the next 20-hour CERT training class, tentatively scheduled to start in April, should call the CERT Information Hotline at (732) 721-5600, ext. 3072.

Leave your name, phone number and a brief message, and your call will be returned.
