Children's Activities Day Camp joins LAF in fight against cancer

SAYREVILLE - Super Activities Camp is joining the Lance Armstrong Foundation's (LAF) fight against cancer by raising funds through a children's activities day camp.

The Super Activities Camp allows individuals in the Sayreville area to do something bold in the face of cancer by supporting the mission of the LAF to inspire and empower people affected by cancer.

The Super Activities Camp has pledged to raise funds for the LAF by hosting a children's activities day camp. The director of the activities camp, Richard K. Gluchowski, a teacher and coach at Sayreville War Memorial High School, holds cancer research dear to his heart. His father, John A. Gluchowski Sr., has survived two battles with cancer and is doing well because of the aid of many wonderful doctors and treatments.

"The help of many good people and the ability to help my father with effective treatments has given him the ability to enjoy his grandchildren.

"Cancer research and fundraising for this cause is very important to me and to my entire family," Gluchowski said.

With the help of many of Gluchowski's friends in the Sayreville School District, he will be able to host The Super Activities Camp for children entering the fourth grade through the ninth grade for a wonderful fun-filled experience of some sport-specific activities. Activities such as Red Rover, kickball, dodge ball, volleyball, Simon Says, Amoeba Tag, and many other activity-based games will be the core of the camp. The activities camp will take place June 18 through June 22 at Sayreville War Memorial High School. The camp registration fee is $185 per participant, and all information about the camp can be found at www.beactivehavefun.com.

Funds raised through the Super Activities Camp will enable the LAF to continue helping people across the nation with the physical, emotional and practical challenges of cancer.
