The U9 Old Bridge Hurricanes had a perfect weekend, first beating the Toms River Wave, 2-0, and then defeating Wall Rovers by the same score of 2-0. In the first game, the offensive fire power were goals scored by Mackenzie Mahoney and Victoria Kamvissis. The offensive play of Isabella D'Acunto, Katie Lombardi, Julia Micciola and Meagan Donohue kept the pressure on. The outstanding defensive play of Taylor Martinez, Katie Dunn and Gabriella Breyberg limited the shots on goal. The goaltending tandem of Sabrina Youssef and Mackenzie Mahoney kept the shutout intact.

The second game of the weekend was a hard-fought game. In the second half, Katie Lombardi popped in two goals to solidify the victory. The offensive zone play of Julia Miccola, Isabella D'Acunto, Meagan Donohue, Mackenzie Mahoney, Victoria Kamvissis and Jessica Tranchina was excellent. The defensive trio of Taylor Ianniello, Taylor Martinez and Gabriella Breyberg limited any offensive chances. The shots that were on goal were no match, with Lucy Tamke and Sabrina Youssef preserving the shutout in goal.

Gerald Haran, an Old Bridge High School graduate, had a huge week at the plate as The College of New Jersey Lions went a perfect 5-0 as a team. The senior batted .412 with a .941 slugging percentage and was also tabbed as the NJAC Player of the Week. He added two home runs in the Lions' 4-2 win over Ramapo State and combined for 8 RBIs in the team's doubleheader sweep of No. 25-ranked Ramapo. He was also a key performer in the Lions' extra-inning win over Rutgers-Camden as he provided the spark to tie the game and send it to extra innings and reached base in the bottom of the 12th to be the winning run in the game.
