Gov. should take cue from across the Hudson
      I have a solution to New Jersey's fiscal problems. Send Gov. Corzine to take lessons from New York's mayor, Michael Bloomberg. Bloomberg now has a $4.4 billion surplus, lowered property taxes and is removing the sales tax from some clothing items/shoes.

      I was reading an article regarding Mayor Jim Phillips of Old Bridge on page 6 in the April 5 issue of the Suburban. I had to chuckle at the opening sentence, which read, "Mayor Jim Phillips wants to know what you are thinking.

      A friend of mine forwarded me an e-mail that he received from Mayor Jim Phillips. It looked like a survey from the mayor, having a picture of the mayor with the seal of Old Bridge in the background and an invite for people to reply with issues that concern them the most.
