Congrats to Queen for a Day; thanks to those who honored her

The Sayreville Lady Dems are profoundly grateful for having the opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the selection of Martha Petner as our Queen for a Day.

Martha is a well-known and highly respected resident in our community. Her résumé is one that will attest to her outstanding qualities of volunteerism, community service and interest in serving people. We are all extremely proud of her many accomplishments and feel she is most deserving of the title Queen for a Day. Throughout her entire life she has demonstrated royalty in everything she does.

A coronation dinner was held in her honor, and Mayor Kennedy O'Brien performed the crowning ceremony. It was heartwarming to see so many people contributing in different ways to make this day an enjoyable and memorable one for Martha.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Mayor O'Brien and Borough Council members for attending and recognizing Martha with a community resolution.

Thanks also go to Freeholder Blanquita Valenti for attending and presenting Martha with a resolution from the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders. To state Sen. Joseph Vitale, we offer deep appreciation for the beautifully worded Senate resolution honoring Martha. To Robert Redford and Scott Dunn, who did such a wonderful job as Martha's royal honor guard, we send many thanks, as you added such a personal touch that was indeed moving and enjoyed by all.

Once again, heartfelt thanks to all from Martha Petner and the Lady Dems.
