Ronald V. Weiss
Mr. Weiss, 61, of Freehold, died May 12, 2007, at home. He was a self-employed karate master instructor. Surviving are his wife, Carmen Meilak Weiss; two sons, Erik Weiss of Old Bridge and Keith Weiss of Freehold; a daughter, Danielle Weiss of Jackson; two brothers; a sister; and two grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Interment was private. Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements.
Alfred R. Pysno
Mr. Pysno, 80, of Sayreville, died May 17, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 40 years in the maintenance department at E.I. DuPont, Parlin section of Sayreville. Surviving are a brother, Edward, and two sisters, Jean Pysno and Bernice Kuczynski, all of Sayreville. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Catherine "Kaye" Hedenus DeZao
Mrs. DeZao, 79, of Old Bridge, died May 18, 2007, at home. Surviving are her husband, Joseph DeZao Jr.; a son, Joseph DeZao III of the New Egypt section of Plumsted; four daughters, Michele Mazzeo, and her husband, Christopher, of Manalapan, Lorraine Moricco of Old Bridge, Denise Hermans, and her husband, Albert, of the Morganville section of Marlboro, and Kathleen Shapter of Lewes, Del.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Carmen R. Reyes
Mrs. Reyes, 78, of Old Bridge, died May 17, 2007, in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Surviving are a son, Robert R. Reyes of Flushing, N.Y.; three daughters, Rosalind J. Zeitner of Old Bridge, Ann Jenkins of East Brunswick and Jeanette J. Englich of Lake Ronkonkoma Hills, N.Y.; three brothers, Eugene J. Nieto of the Parlin section of Sayreville, Edward F. Nieto of Moorestown and Albert T. Nieto of Florida; two sisters, Sister Guadalupe Marie Nieto of Summit and Elsie G. Rodriguez of Matawan; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette's Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Interment was in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y.
Frances M. Gomolka Dzielak
Mrs. Dzielak, 93, of South Amboy, died May 20, 2007, in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for 28 years as a film inspector with E.I. DuPont Inc., Parlin section of Sayreville. She was predeceased by her husband, Alex Dzielak, and by a stepson, Alex Dzielak. Surviving are a stepson, Robert Dzielak of South Amboy; and two sisters, Edna Weinman of South Amboy and Sister Mary Gomolka of Mount St. Mary's, Watchung. A Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church or to Mount St. Mary's.
Ricardo "Richie" Bujan
Mr. Bujan, 72, of Sayreville, died May 16, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. He was employed for the past seven years as a crossing guard with the Sayreville Police Department. Surviving are his wife, Antonia Fonseca Bujan; a daughter, Letty Kotoff, and her husband, Bill, of Old Bridge; a son, Edwin Bujan, and his wife, Brenda, of Cibolo, Texas; a sister, Myrna Bujan of Sayreville; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Linden.
Armand Boffardi
Mr. Boffardi, 92, of South Venice, Fla., died May 15, 2007, in Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Surviving are his wife, Antoinette Sagona Boffardi; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and Jim Sullivan of Middletown and Anita and Michael Cole of Old Bridge; a brother, Louis Boffardi, and a sister, Chica Carbone, both of South Venice; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary's Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
Danny O. Bergen
Mr. Bergen, 60, of Old Bridge, died May 14, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. He was employed as a maintenance worker at Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge, for nine years. A son, Danny S.E. Bergen, died in 1991. Surviving are his wife, Sharon L. Bergen; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Darlene Bergen of Old Bridge; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Services were held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
Libby Anne Conover Flynn
Mrs. Flynn, 50, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died May 17, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. She was employed as a dispatcher with the Old Bridge Police Department for the past 16 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Frances and John Conover. Surviving are her husband, Stephen Flynn; a brother, John Conover of the Waretown section of Ocean Township; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Margaret and Joseph Flynn of the Iselin section of Woodbridge; a sister, Margaret Rusbarsky of Jim Thorpe, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette's Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills section of Pemberton.
Lillian Kelly Dorrian
Mrs. Dorrian, 83, of East Brunswick, died May 17, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are two sons, John Dorrian, and his wife, Diane, of Estero, Fla., and Kevin Dorrian, and his wife, Joan, of North Brunswick; a daughter, Colleen Larrison, and her husband, Michael, of South Amboy; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, North Brunswick. Joseph P. Zawaski
Mr. Zawaski, 58, of Howell, formerly of East Brunswick, died May 4, 2007, at home. Prior to his retirement in 2002, he was an auto assembler at the Ford assembly plant, Edison, for 32 years. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Denton Zawaski; two sons, Timothy Scott Zawaski and Thomas Francis Zawaski of Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Tammy DeFrancesco of Jackson; a sister, Elizabeth Zawaski of Pompton Lakes; and two granddaughters. A funeral service was held at Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover.
Patricia M. Wood
Mrs. Wood, 65, of East Brunswick, died May 17, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Howard Wood; three daughters, Susan Godsey, and her husband, Barry, of Gurnee, Ill., Karen Curtis, and her husband, Brian, of Milltown and Jennifer Fryer, and her husband, Jon, of Rotherham, England; a sister, Sharon Miller, and her husband, Bruce, of Bend, Ore.; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Mary Hage Szabo
Mrs. Szabo, 88, of East Brunswick, died May 16, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, William Szabo, died in 1991. Surviving are a son, William Sabo, and his wife, Barbara, of East Brunswick; and two grandchildren, William Jr. and Barbara. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
