Sayreville community to honor Randall Boulton Members of the Sayreville athletic community will come together in a benefit softball tournament beginning at 3 p.m. on June 16 at Woodland Avenue Park, Morgan section of the borough, to honor the memory of Randall Boulton and help defray college costs for the Boulton family. Boulton, who coached and sponsored teams in the Sayreville Athletic Association (AA) baseball league, passed away in February. The Boulton children are students at Sayreville War Memorial High School. Triplets John, Maryanne and Nick are juniors, and son Randall is a freshman. All are active in the school's athletic programs. Both John and Nick compete for the wrestling team, where Nick was a district champion. Maryanne is a member of the track team. Randall played for the freshman baseball team. The benefit tournament will pit Sayreville AA coaches against their counterparts from the Sayreville Little League and South Amboy AA, as well as the Sayreville PBA softball team. Food and refreshments will be available. There will be a dunking booth and a pie-in-face booth. Several teachers from SWMHS have volunteered to be the "targets" in the booths. Several local merchants have made significant contributions of food, beverages and paper goods to support the benefit. Admission to the event is $5 per person or $10 per family. For more information, call Mike Toth at (908) 930-3497.
