+ Cruise Nights/Car Shows, sponsored by Just Us Cruisers Classic Car Club, 6-9 p.m., in the parking lot at 1980 Route 35 North, next to F-1 Motoring, South Amboy/Sayreville. Family-oriented events feature more than 50 antique and classic cars from across the tristate area. Trophies, games, music from the '50s, '60s, '70s. + Charity Auction, sponsored by The USS Avenger, Edison, and the Van Houten Foundation Inc., to benefit the Van Houten Foundation and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), at the Victorian Manor, Edison. Auction merchandise from sports personalities, television and film celebrities. Games, activities, catered food. Proceeds will be used to establish a shelter for women and children in Middlesex County, for two scholarships for students pursuing environmental studies, and for JDRF research. Live and silent auctions, dinner, awards reception beginning at 6 p.m. Cost is $2,200 for a corporate foursome.
