Katherine Gondek Jaskowiak

Mrs. Jaskowiak, 95, of Sayreville, died June 2, 2007, in Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Jaskowiak, in 1961. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Rosanna Jaskowiak of Lake Forest, Calif.; two brothers, John Gondek of Sayreville and Stanley Gondek of the Somerset section of Franklin; and a granddaughter. A Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.

LaVern Draeger Halka

Mrs. Halka, 80, of Sayreville, formerly of East Brunswick, died June 6, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress with Brodsky and Sons, South River, where she worked for many years. She was predeceased by her husband, John Halka. Surviving is a son, John Halka Jr., with whom she lived. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Shirley Ann Thacker Novak

Mrs. Novak, 66, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died June 11, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. She was employed for the past 27 years with New Brunswick Scientific, Edison. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Novak; a son, Kenneth Jr. of Parlin; two daughters, Sue Novak of Parlin and Victoria Sloan of Springhill, Fla.; four brothers, James Thacker, Alvin Thacker, Jerry Thacker and E.C. Thacker, all of Georgia; two sisters, Hazel Earwood and Martha Louis, both of Georgia; five grandchildren; and a niece and two nephews. A Mass is planned for 9:30 a.m. on June 14 at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Entombment will follow in Sacred Heart Mausoleum, Parlin.

Bernadine Capan Newkirk

Mrs. Newkirk, 74, of Old Bridge, died June 5, 2007, in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Newkirk. Surviving are a son, Ralph C. Capan of Michigan; a brother, Thomas Capan of the Bronx, N.Y.; a sister, Helen Gentile of Lake Worth, Fla.; and three grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Lawrence Church, Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge. Entombment was in Holmdel Mausoleum.

Mary G. Fusaro Viscido

Mrs. Viscido, 74, formerly of Spotswood, died June 11, 2007, in Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge. Prior to her retirement, she was a sales associate with Kravet Pharmacy, Spotswood, where she worked for 15 years. Her husband, Donald A. Viscido, died in 2000. Surviving are three daughters, Donna Vegh, and her husband, Rick, of West Allenhurst, Deborah Moriarty, and her husband, Michael, of Spotswood, and Cynthia Klein, and her husband, David, of the Monmouth Junction section of North Brunswick; a son, Michael, and his wife, Christine, of Westfield; a brother, Pat Fusaro of the Toms River section of Dover; a sister, Rosie Lipari of Cedar Grove; and eight grandchildren. A Mass is planned for 10:15 a.m. on June 15 at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Cremation will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Ataxia Foundation, 2600 Fernbrook Lane, Suite 119, Minneapolis, MN 55447.

Carol Dare Thorne

Mrs. Thorne, 70, of Freehold, died May 19, 2007, at home. Surviving are her husband, Gerald; five children, Lynn Reynolds and Cheryl Arvidson, both of Old Bridge, Audrey Lotti of Freehold, Scott Thorne of East Brunswick and Jeff Thorne of Jackson; and 13 grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Thorne's life was held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Freehold.

Maureen Huston Gostkowski

Mrs. Gostkowski, 55, of Sayreville, died June 2, 2007, in Lackawaxen, Pa. She was predeceased by her mother, Catherine Donnelly Huston. She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Gostkowksi; two daughters, Ashley and Cierra Gostkowski, both of Sayreville; her parents, Andrew and Jane Huston of Ocean Pines, Md.; a sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Tom Gregory of Spotswood; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Carole Huston of Rhode Island, and Richard and Joan Huston of Connecticut. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Roman Catholic Church, South River. Burial was at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly. Arrangements were by Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin.

Charles J. Stelmaszek Jr.

Mr. Stelmaszek, 53, of Sayreville, died May 31, 2007, at home. He was predeceased by his father, Charles J. Stelmaszek Sr. He is survived by his mother, Mary Malinowski Stelmaszek of Sayreville; three aunts; and several cousins. Burial was at St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Sayreville. Arrangements were by Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville.

Mary A. Caulfield Weichel

Mrs. Weichel, 98, of Spotswood, died June 6, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent A. Weichel, in 1986. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Vincent and Grace of Spotswood and John and Claire of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River section of Dover. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.

Marie E. Parisi Martin

Mrs. Martin, 92, of Matawan, died June 7, 2007, in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a waitress at Buttonwood Manor, Matawan, where she worked for 25 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford Martin, in 2001, and by a stepson, Clifford Martin Jr. Surviving are a stepdaughter, Virginia Johnston of Sayreville; a brother, Gaetano Parisi of Matawan; and several grandchildren. A Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, Keyport. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Alberta Sigrid Lipinski Williamson

Mrs. Williamson, 63, of Helmetta, died May 31, 2007, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ronald; three daughters and two sons-in-law Alberta and Lane Morrow of Robbinsville, Cheryl-Lynn Williamson of South River, Robin-Lyn and Bruce Kuntz of Parlin; a sister, Julia Mihalichko of South River; and two grandchildren.

Anna "Sabina" Harylka Church

Mrs. Church, 76, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died June 1, 2007, at St. Michael's Medical Center, Newark. She was predeceased by her husband, James Church, in 2004. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Thomas and Doris Church of Budd Lake, John and Susan Church of Ogdensburg, and James Church of Cliffwood Beach; a brother, Stanley "Stash" Harylka of Holmdel; a sister, Dorothy Grabowski of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Laurence Harbor. Interment was at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Keyport. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
