Car wash proceeds to aid marching band
      The members of the Sayreville War Memorial High School Marching Band will hold a car wash from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 26 in the parking lot at the school, Washington Road. Proceeds will go to the marching unit.

      The Sayreville Recreation Department will sponsor a Movies in the Park event with the screening of a musical starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John at 9 p.m. on June 23 at Kennedy Park, Washington Road. Participants should bring their own chairs. Refreshments will be sold.

Gymnastics, dance, cheer sessions on tap
      The Sayreville Department of Recreation will offer three additional summer programs for youngsters ages 6-13. Gymnastics is set for Tuesdays, dance for Wednesdays, cheer for Thursdays, from 9 a.m. to noon for six weeks beginning June 25 at Truman School, Taft Place. Fee is $50.
