Kittens, public can win big at July 7 'shower'

Sayreville Pet Adoption Center, 1400 Main St., Sayreville, hopes to make 7/7/07 a lucky day for the dozens of kittens in its care when it hosts a Lucky Sevens Kitten Shower from noon to 4 p.m. on July 7.

Admission is free of charge, but guests are asked to bring a can of kitten/cat food or KMR kitten milk for the "wishing well." In addition, guests who make a $7 donation to sponsor a kitten for one week will be entered into a drawing to win a new cat carrier. Many kittens and adult cats also will be available for adoption. Opportunities to foster kittens and/or volunteer at the shelter will be offered.

There will be complimentary refreshments and shower favors for all guests.

Hadassah schedules

July 10 Poolside Chai

East Brunswick Hadassah will present a Fun in the Sun Poolside Chai at 12:30 p.m. on July 10 at a private home in East Brunswick. Rain date is July 11.

The event will feature a swim and a light dairy lunch. Donna from A.C. Moore, East Brunswick, will offer instruction in floral arranging.

Couvert is $20. Proceeds will benefit the Young Judea Scholarship Fund.
