Five burglaries reported at Crosspointe condos

EAST BRUNSWICK - Police are investigating a series of burglaries that occurred at five township residences in the same condominium complex last week.

The five break-ins at Crosspointe, off Tices Lane, all took place between 7:15 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on June 26. One each occurred on Crosspointe Drive and Lear Court, while three took place on Carhart Court.

Entry on Crosspointe Drive and Lear Court was made by prying open the front doors. On Carhart Court, the burglars entered two of the homes by prying the front door open, and in one case pried open the rear sliding patio door.

In all cases, the suspect or suspects rummaged through drawers inside the homes.

On Crosspointe Drive, the burglars stole a safe containing an undetermined amount of cash from a closet in the master bedroom.

In one of the Carhart Court burglaries, cash totaling $75 and assorted jewelry were taken. In another on Carhart Court, cash totaling $800 and various jewelry items were taken.

It was not known if anything was taken in the other three burglaries, police said.

"We are asking the residents to be vigilant of any suspicious activity regarding people and/or vehicles, and to report the same to the police," East Brunswick Police Detective Sgt. Gerald M. Ravaioli said. Residents should call Detective Eric Raps at (732) 390-6900 to report such information.

Ravaioli said earlier this week that there were no further burglaries after June 26, which was a Tuesday.

"They were all isolated to that one day," he said.

Police are investigating leads in the case, but did not have any further information available at press time.
