The U12 Old Bridge Hustlers girls softball team traveled to Bethlehem, Pa., on June 30 to participate in the ASA Eastern Regional Championship. With a national bid on the line for the top two finishers in the 16-team pool, the Hustlers went 3-0 in seeding play to earn a top seed leading to Sunday's single-elimination playoff. After defeating a tough Northhampton, Pa., team in the semifinals, 12-4, the Hustlers were defeated in the finals, 8-4, by the Lehigh Valley Flames.

Both teams qualified for the ASA Nationals in Harrisburg, Pa., in early August. The 4-1 weekend improved the Hustlers' overall record to 46-4-1 this spring/summer. The Hustlers traveled to Freehold for the annual PONY sanctioned Summer Slam last weekend.
