Assemblyman to offer mobile office in O.B.

Assemblyman Sam Thompson (R-13) will sponsor a mobile office from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on July 24 at the George Bush Senior Center in the Old Bridge municipal complex, Route 516 and Cottrell Road. Individual assistance will be available for homeowners, tenants and mobile homeowners who want to file for state property-tax rebates and for those who would like to find out if they are eligible for the rebate programs. Appointments are not necessary. The deadline to file for homeowner and tenant property-tax rebates has been extended to Aug. 15. Legislative staff members will provide information, help constituents resolve problems with state agencies, and assist those who wish to sign up for programs such as PAAD (Pharmaceutical Assistance for the Aged and Disabled), Senior Gold and NJFamilyCare. Veterans will be able to register with the National World War II Memorial in Washington D.C., and apply for New Jersey Military Service Medals. The senior center is a drop-off location for Operation DVD, a drive to collect used and new DVDs and music CDs to send to U.S. troops serving in war zones. Call (732) 583-5558.
