After-hours party to welcome 'Harry Potter' book

The East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center, will mark the publication of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," the final book in J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series, with a celebration featuring entertainment, activities and refreshments from 10 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. on July 20.

The library will close at its usual time, 9 p.m., but will reopen at 10 p.m. for party participants only. Celebration highlights will include magic tricks, "Potter"-oriented games and activities, soft beverages and snacks. At midnight, 20 copies of the new book will be raffled off to East Brunswick Library cardholders who also have joined Youniquely4U or who join on the evening of the event. The books are provided by Youniquely4U, the free online service that matches its members to local events, programs and information geared to their interests.

The new "Potter" adventure will be available at midnight for borrowing by the first 50 cardholders who reserved the book. Interested individuals may find out if they are among the group by logging on to www.ebpl.org and clicking on Check My Account, or by calling the circulation desk at (732) 390-6950.

For more information, call library youth services at (732) 390-6789.
