Blood drive planned for Aug. 4 at O.B. church

St. Thomas the Apostle Church, in cooperation with Knights of Columbus Council No. 4815, will hold a summer blood drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 4 in the parish auditorium, Route 18 south, Old Bridge.

Donors must be between the ages of 17 and 75, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in reasonably good health.

'Uncle Vanya' tryouts

scheduled at Villagers

Auditions for the upcoming Villagers Theater production of "Uncle Vanya" by Anton Chekov are planned for 7 p.m. on Aug. 5 and 7 at the theater, 415 DeMott Lane, Somerset section of Franklin. Callbacks, if needed, will be held at 7 p.m. on Aug. 9.

Auditions will consist of readings from the script. The director is seeking five men and four women.
