Salt Water Day set for Aug. 11 at beachfront

Old Bridge Salt Water Day is set for 4 p.m. to dusk on Aug. 11 at the Laurence Harbor beachfront, Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge. The event is a joint venture of the Laurence Harbor First Aid Squad, the township of Old Bridge and the Middlesex County Parks Department.

The day will feature live entertainment, food, vendors and a fireworks show. Bob Murdock's British Invasion, featuring the music of the Beatles, the Dave Clark 5, the Rolling Stones, etc., will be on stage from 5-7 p.m. Asbury Fever, presenting the sounds of Jersey Shore rock bands such as Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny, John Eddy, Beaver Brown, etc., will perform from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Parking will be available in the lot at St. Lawrence Parish, 109 Laurence Parkway, Laurence Harbor, after the 4:30 p.m. Mass; at the Laurence Harbor Senior Center, 200 Laurence Parkway; and the Garden State Parkway Exit 120 office complex. Shuttle buses will be provided from the parking lots to the event area. Additional shuttle buses will serve the Cliffwood Beach 7-Eleven and the Cheesequake Village Clubhouse.
