Town needs new leadership, change in direction I have been an Old Bridge resident for more than 10 years. This is a critical year in Old Bridge politics. The November election can really be a turning point for our town. Four years ago, Jim Phillips ran on a platform of preserving open space and reducing taxes. He has done completely the opposite. Every year, the tax burden has gotten larger; more jobs are being created in the township. Also, he rezoned township-owned land (Crossroads) for development and auctioned off township-owned lots, all in the name of tax relief. Do you feel any tax relief? I sure don't. I think this town is in desperate need of a change, but the voters need to act. Please do your research and get out and vote. I am convinced that the current administration is convinced that voter apathy will get it re-elected. Phillips and team don't really seem too concerned about what our views are and how we think and feel. As a matter of fact, Phillips sent out a survey 3 1/2 years into his administration, asking us what our issues are. Does that sound like someone engaged and interested in what we care about? Let's get out and vote and take back this town. Rich Greene has been consistent on the issues. He fought the Crossroads development and has insisted on fiscal accountability every year he has been a Township Council member. We need new leadership. We need integrity in our government. We need a change in direction, not only in the mayor's office, but on the council as well. Please vote for Rich Greene and his council team, Brian Cahill, Owen Henry and Solon Fotis. Together, they will make a difference.
