Joseph John Fryzowicz

Mr. Fryzowicz, 65, of the Dayton section of South Brunswick, formerly of Old Bridge, died July 21, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Medical Center, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Herrmann Fryzowicz; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Daniel Goldman and Greg Goldman, both of Dayton, and Wayne and Patricia Goldman of Hamilton; a daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Christopher DiStefano of East Brunswick; a brother and sister-in-law, Travis and Grace Fryzowicz of Spotswood; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A funeral service was held at Spotswood Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Peter's Foundation, 254 Easton Ave., New Brunswick, NJ 08901.

Donald Kane

Mr. Kane, 75, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died July 27, 2007, at home. His wife, Barbara, died in 2000. Surviving are three children, Paul, and his wife, Janet, of Jackson, Deborah Fredricks, and her husband, Richard, of Parlin, and Scott, and his wife, Sharon, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a brother, Gerald Kane of Parlin; and four grandsons. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette's Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Mary Jane Smith

Mrs. Smith, 75, of Hazlet, died Aug. 2, 2007, at home. She was predeceased by a son, Thomas J. Smith, in 2000. Surviving are her husband, William T. Smith; two sons and one daughter-in-law, David E. and Donna Smith of Metuchen and Joseph Smith of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and John Bouchard of Apex, N.C.; and three grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.

Emily Penachio

Mrs. Penachio, 80, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died July 29, 2007, in JFK Medical Center, Edison. Her husband, Donald, died in 1991, and a son, James Smith, died in 1987. Surviving are two sons, George Smith and William Penachio; four daughters, Emily Maloney, Kathleen Penachio, Janet Diller and Jo-Ann Perillo; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Interment was in Weehawken Cemetery, North Bergen.

John J. Punch

Mr. Punch, 74, of the Cheesequake Village section of Old Bridge, died July 28, 2007, at home. Surviving are his wife, Lillian Krolian Punch; a daughter, Rosemary Atterbury of Matawan; a son, Robert Punch of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two grandchildren, Brian Hudzik and Sean Atterbury. A memorial service was held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Matawan. Cremation was private.

Phyllis Bishoff Duggan Remenar

Mrs. Remenar, 85, of Lakewood, formerly of Middletown, died July 18, 2007. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gerald C. Duggan Sr., in 1970. Surviving are her second husband, Joseph Remenar; nine children and their spouses, Frank and Barbara Duggan of Freehold, Sharon and Wilhelm Fischer of Berkeley Heights, Kathleen and Robert Krueger of Fair Haven, Marilyn and Dominic Tarantino of Howell, Gerald and Nancy Duggan of Bayville, Trish and Robert Patten of Middletown, Linda and Ron Hague of Chattanooga, Tenn., Irene and Thomas Cunningham of Old Bridge and Joseph and Donna Remenar of Lynden, Wash.; four siblings and their spouses, Lois and Raymond Richardson of Whiting, Shirley and George Penfield of Bossier City, La., Frank and Joan Bishoff of Cascade, Va., and Richard and Madeline Bishoff of South Toms River; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Deborah Hospital Foundation, P.O. Frank Bamburak

Mr. Bamburak, 76, of Sayreville, died Aug. 2, 2007, in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Surviving are his wife, Shirley J. Hoffman Bamburak; three children and their spouses, Karen and Murray Fresta of Freehold, Kevin and Heather Bamburak of Point Pleasant and Patrick an Susan Bamburak of Rahway; a brother, Stephen Bamburak of West Virginia; two sisters, Stella Lemanski and Mary Bamburak, both of Carteret; and seven grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.

Carol L. Miller Eppinger

Mrs. Eppinger, 64, of Sayreville, died July 20, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her parents, Margie and Gerald Miller. Surviving are her husband, Peter Eppinger; three daughters, Joyce Crites, and her husband, John, of Tioga, W.Va., Tracey Eppinger of West Chester, Ohio, and Holly Feszchak of East Stroudsburg, Pa.; a son, James Mabey, and his wife, Donna, of Arcadia, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Cremation was private.

Ramon F. Schaffer

Mr. Schaffer, 77, of East Brunswick, died July 27, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Rita Yurkiewicz Schaffer; two sons, Ramon Schaffer, and his wife, Deborah, of Little Egg Harbor, and Robb Schaffer, and his wife, Gisele, of East Brunswick; two daughters, Ramona Toia, and her husband, Frank, and Diana Kohlhepp, and her husband, Keith, all of Millstone; nine grandchildren; and a nephew. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Casimir Waliszewski

Mr. Waliszewski, 70, of East Brunswick, died July 31, 2007, in Parker House, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Diane Adams Waliszewski; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Kurt Kuhn of Hockessin, Del.; and a grandson, Kurt Charles. Phyllis M. Perrotta Pohl

Mrs. Pohl, 62, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Aug. 1, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was an administrative assistant at Kara Homes, East Brunswick, for the past three years. Prior to that, she owned and operated five GNC vitamin stores in Old Bridge, Holmdel, Middletown, Marlboro and East Brunswick for 12 years. She also was a licensed Realtor in the Sayreville area for several years. She was predeceased by her father, Louis L. Perrotta. Surviving are her husband, Joseph M. Pohl; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Courtney Pohl of Winslow and Christopher and Heather Pohl of Matawan; her mother, Maria Rubino Perrotta of Parlin; and a sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Nick Piscitelli of Little Egg Harbor. A Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Entombment was in Sacred Heart Mausoleum, Parlin.

David Markheim

Mr. Markheim, 88, of Monroe, formerly of Old Bridge and Spotswood, died July 22, 2007, in Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice, Edison. He was a self-employed contractor, building homes in and around Spotswood for many years. He served one term on the Spotswood Board of Commissioners, the forerunner of the Spotswood Borough Council. His wife, Anna Mae Markheim, died in 1987. Surviving are two children, Carol Duhrkopp, and her husband, Lyn, of Monroe, and David Brian Markheim, and his wife, Tammy, of South Carolina; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his longtime companion, Dorothy Patron; and his caregivers. Services were held at Spotswood Funeral Home. Interment was in Spotswood Reformed Church Cemetery.
