Friends Book Sale set for Sayreville Day

The Friends of the Sayreville Public Library will sponsor a Book Sale at Sayreville Day, Sept. 16, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kennedy Park, Washington Road, Parlin section of Sayreville.

Books may be purchased separately or for $5 a bag. Selections will include fiction, nonfiction, mystery, paperbacks, children's books and more.

Donations for the sale may be dropped off beginning Aug. 27 at the Friends' mailbox in the library vestibule. Children's books and works in various genres are sought. Magazines, condensed books, textbooks and encyclopedia will not be accepted for donation.

Registration to begin for recreation programs

Registration for the Sayreville Recreation Department's "Mom and Me" and "Kids Playtime" fall children's programs will begin on Aug. 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the recreation office, Dolan Street.

The sessions, which are open to Sayreville residents only, will start on Sept. 17 and run for 10 weeks.

The Spotswood VFW Ladies Auxiliary is now selling 2008 Entertainment Books for $25. Books for Middlesex and Monmouth counties are in stock, and any other New Jersey or out-of-state edition is available.
