'American Graffiti' set for library 'drive-in'

The meeting room at the Sayreville Public Library, Washington Road, will be turned into an old-fashioned drive-in theater with a showing of the classic movie "American Graffiti" at a library Drive-In Movie Night set for 6 p.m. on Aug. 27.

The Academy Award-nominated classic, voted one of the American Film Institute's top 100 films of all time, is a coming-of-age story about four 1960s teenagers on their last summer night before going off to college.

The festively decorated meeting room will feature a snack stand offering popcorn, candy and ice-cream sodas. Library staff members will be dressed in retro attire.

Admission is free of charge, but registration is requested. The public is invited.

For more information and to reserve, call (732) 727-0212, ext. 21, or log on to www.lmxac.org/sayreville.

A representative of the Old Bridge Police Department will present a behind-the-scenes look at what happens in a real crime lab and in real criminal investigations.

For more information and to register, call (732) 721-5600, ext. 5033.
