Laura Brustowicz Milek

Mrs. Milek, of South River, died Aug. 29, 2007, at home. Prior to her retirement in 1980, she was employed as a seamstress with Berman Dress Co., South River, where she worked for 40 years. Her husband, John S. Milek, died in 1986. Surviving are a daughter, Dolly Milek of South River, and a son, Richard Milek of Jamesburg; a son-in-law, Walter Semchenko of East Brunswick; two sisters, Mamie Maskalewicz of South River and Florence Boris of Florida; six grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Estelle Ann Narkiewicz Ptaszynski

Mrs. Ptaszynski, 88, of South River, died Aug. 19, 2007, at her daughter's home in Winter Park, Fla. Prior to her retirement in 1972, she was employed with Chicopee Manufacturing Co., Milltown, where she worked for 25 years. Her husband, Theodore Ptaszynski, died in 1994. Surviving are three children, Barbara Zwolinski, and her husband, Frank, of South River, Robert, and his wife, Denise, of Orlando, Fla., and Patricia Betchan, and her husband, Glenn, of Winter Park; two brothers, Walter Narkiewicz of South River and Edward Jackiewicz of The Woodlands, Texas; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Richard J. Wieland

Mr. Wieland, 60, of Mount Laurel, formerly of Spotswood, died Aug. 31, 2007, at home. Prior to his retirement this year, he owned and operated Discount Cosmetics and Colognes, Spotswood, for 30 years. Surviving are a daughter, Christine Ditski of Mount Laurel; a brother, Robert Wieland of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Linda Rassmussen of Londonderry, N.H.; and three grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was private.

Victor H. Coelho

Mr. Coelho, 26, of Roselle Park, died Aug. 30, 2007, in a work-related accident. He was a professional roofer for 12 years. Surviving are his fiancé, Kim Farrell of Roselle Park; his parents, Jose and Dulce of Sayreville; a brother, Pedro, and his wife, Michelle, a nephew, Alec, and a niece, Sevanna, all of Sayreville; his grandmother, Maria Lourdes Coelho of Portugal; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville. Memorial contributions may be made to a college fund for Mr. Coelho's unborn daughter, Lilly.

Joann R. Marchitelli

Mrs. Marchitelli, 64, of Old Bridge, died Aug. 31, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. She was employed as a noontime supervisor with the Old Bridge Township Board of Education, where she worked for 17 years. A son, Lawrence Marchitelli, died in 2001. Surviving are her husband, Joseph A. Marchitelli; a son, Anthony Marchitelli of Belleville; a daughter, Jodi Dorion of Old Bridge; and six grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Sherman L. McDaniels

Mr. McDaniels, 73, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died Aug. 29, 2007, at home. Surviving are three daughters and sonsin law, Catherine Linda and Robert Reinhold of Cliffwood Beach, Jane Marie and Ronald Hynes of Keansburg and Kelly Ann and Edward Farrer of Hazlet; three brothers, William, Ken and Lane McDaniels; three sisters, June Starnes, Brenda Steele and Dorothy Mc- Daniels; eight grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild. Cremation was private. Arrangements were under the direction of Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Walter Samuel Quackenbush

Mr. Quackenbush, 80, of East Brunswick, formerly of Old Bridge and Freehold, died Aug. 18, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he was employed as a chemical operator with E.I. DuPont, Parlin section of Sayreville, where he worked for 25 years. He was predeceased by his first wife, Iris Fenny Quackenbush. Surviving are his wife, Catherine Berardinelli Quackenbush; two daughters, Brenda Ruggiere of the Forked River of Lacey and Denise Herman of Tennessee; two sons, Robert Connolly, and his wife, Honda, of Aberdeen, and Patrick Connolly of California; three brothers, Ronald, Samuel and Edward Quackenbush; three sisters, Faye and Sharon Bergen and Beverly Papernick; and six grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Spotswood Funeral Home. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post No. 9468, 8 First Place, Old Bridge, NJ 08857.

Walter J. "Pete" Casey

Mr. Casey, 93, of South Amboy, died Aug. 31, 2007. He and his late brother, Bob, and their late father, Robert A. Casey, owned and operated the Raritan Valley Farms milk business, South Amboy and Perth Amboy, until 1960. Prior to his retirement in 1995, he was employed as a teller with Amboy National Bank, where he worked for 34 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Theresa Carini Casey. Surviving are two daughters, Corinne Casey-Lyons of San Mateo, Calif., and Mary Casey-Griffin, and her husband, Stan, of Point Pleasant; a grandson, Michael Griffin; two nieces and two nephews; a goddaughter; and several cousins, A Mass was offered at St. Mary's Church, South Amboy. Arrangements were under the direction of Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin section of Sayreville. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Amboy First Aid Squad.

Thomas Gowen

Mr. Gowen, 59, of Freehold Township, died Aug. 24, 2007, in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was employed for the past year as a general manager for Circle Chevrolet, Shrewsbury. Prior to that, he was a manager for Kelle Chevrolet, Howell; Brunswick Pontiac Buick GMC, East Brunswick; Sansone Auto Network, Perth Amboy; and Whelan Pontiac Buick GMC, George Hughes Chevrolet and S.B. King and Son Inc., all Freehold Township. He was predeceased by his wife, Pamela J. Gowen, in 2005. Surviving are two brothers, Gerald D. Gowen of South River and Richard Gowen of Rapid City, S.D.; a sister, Loretta "Jeannie" Bollinger of North Brunswick; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold.
