Obituaries

Joseph Kilian

Mr. Kilian, 85, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Sept. 2, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Surviving are his wife, Josephine Grzybek Kilian; a son, Joseph Kilian of Parlin; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery.

John "Jack" Harkenreader

Mr. Harkenreader, 58, of the Leonardo section of Middletown, formerly of Hazlet and Old Bridge, died Sept. 9, 2007, at home. He was a driver and mechanic at Loori Bus Co., North Middletown, for 22 years. He was predeceased by his father, Paul Harkenreader, and by his stepfather, Mathew Frier. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Ince Harkenreader; his mother, Jean Frier of Windsor, Conn.; a daughter, Dawn Harkenreader of Middletown; and two brothers, Evan Williams of Huntingdon, Pa., and David Frier of South Windsor, Conn. Services were held at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Interment was in Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.

Marian H. Stanislowski Grabas

Mrs. Grabas, 85, of Sayreville, died Aug. 28, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her husband, Frank, died in 1983. Surviving are two sons, Frank, and his wife, Diane, of Middlesex, and John of Sayreville; a brother, Joe Stanley of the Toms River section of Dover; and a sister, Martha Tokarchik, also of Toms River. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.

Thomas R. Galletta

Mr. Galletta, 22, of Old Bridge, died Aug. 28, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. A student at Rider University, Lawrenceville section of Lawrence, he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. Surviving are his parents, George and JoAnne Scavone Galletta of Old Bridge; and a brother, Daniel, at home. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Cremation was private. Arrangements were under the direction of Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge.

Angel D. Catapano Lesieur

Mrs. Lesieur, 85, of Old Bridge, died Sept. 5, 2007, at Care One at East Brunswick. Surviving are six children, Doree Leach of Memphis, Tenn., Roland Lesieur of New York, Yvonne Benson of Old Bridge, Joseph Lesieur of Texas, John Lesieur of the Avenel section of Woodbridge and Lorraine Lesieur of Alexandria, Va.; two brothers, Enrico Catapano of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Anthony Catapano of Cape Coral, Fla.; two sisters, Carol Spatola of Watertown, Conn., and Yolanda DeMartino of Deer Park, N.Y.; and 10 grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Sayreville Memorial Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lesieur family.

Anna Elizabeth Van Dusen Peterson

Mrs. Peterson, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Sept. 6, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. She worked for several years as a teacher's aide at Emma L. Arleth School, Parlin. Surviving are her husband, Donald H. Peterson; two daughters and sons-inlaw, Cynthia "Cindy" Peterson Myers and Edward Myers of Virginia Beach, Va., and Sandra "Sandy" Peterson Moncur and William Moncur of Piscataway; two sisters, Janet Monroe and Kathryn Clark, both of Sayreville; a sister-in-law, Marion Karwatt, also of Sayreville; two granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Pearl Rosenbaum Moster

Mrs. Moster, of East Brunswick, died Sept. 1, 2007, in Daughters of Israel Nursing Home, West Orange. After her retirement, she worked as a volunteer for the East Brunswick Police Library. Her husband, Nathan Moster, died in 1997. Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Schneider, and her husband, Eli, of East Brunswick and Janice Arenofsky, and her husband, Ray, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services were held at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Interment was in Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin section of Woodbridge.

Leonard Krushinski

Mr. Krushinski, 67, of South River, died Aug. 24, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Rose Terpack Krushinski, and a by daughter, Donna Lynn Krushinski. Surviving are his wife, Paula Krug Krushinski; four sons, Gregg Krushinski, and his wife, Melissa, of South River, Kevin Krushinski, and his wife, Jennifer, of Sayreville, George Krushinski of Indiana and Leonard Whetsel, and his wife, Donna, of Vineland; a daughter, Diane Kostenko, and her husband, Erik, of South River; three sisters, Josephine Moretti of Harvey's Lake, Pa., Helen Walter of Wilkes Barre, Pa., and Rose Marie Malaker of Clinton; and nine grandchildren. Services were offered at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, East Brunswick.

Nicholas Grabko

Mr. Grabko, 83, of South River, died Aug. 26, 2007, in Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice, Edison. Prior to his retirement in 1982, he was employed as the plant fire chief at E.I. DuPont Photo Products, Parlin section of Sayreville. His wife, Rose B. Urewich Grabko, died in 2001. Surviving are a son, Nicholas W. Grabko of Bridgewater; a daughter, Debra M. Bird of Lagrange, N.C., a brother, John Grabko of Barnegat; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, South River. Arrangements were under the direction of Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River. Memorial contributions may be made to Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church.

Charles J. Dillman

Mr. Dillman, 76, of Monroe, formerly of East Brunswick, died Aug. 24, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. He retired from the American Red Cross, Princeton, after serving as director of several New Jersey chapters. A son, Shane V. Dillman, died in 2000. Surviving are his wife, Martha Kratz Dillman; a son, Craig L. Dillman of Sutton, Mass.; and three grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Cremation Services of Central New Jersey, East Brunswick.

Christopher D. Meyers

Mr. Meyers, 21, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, formerly of Old Bridge, died Aug. 21, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. A 2004 graduate of Middlesex County Vocational and Technical High Schools, East Brunswick, he was employed as a stock clerk at ShopRite, Parlin, and before that, at ShopRite, Matawan. Surviving are his parents, Arnold Meyers of Old Bridge and Debra Bonsante Meyers of Parlin; two sisters, Lauren and Annabella Meyers, both of Parlin; his maternal grandmother, Carmella Squillace of South River; his paternal grandmother, Grace Meyers of Old Bridge; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. Private cremation followed.

John "Jack" Allen Hurlbert

Mr. Hurlbert, 84, of Freehold Township, formerly of Helmetta, died Aug. 16, 2007, in Pine Brook Care Center, Manalapan. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed with First Fidelity Bank, where he was vice president since 1969. He was past president of and an instructor for the American Institute of Banking's Monmouth chapter. Surviving are his wife, Betty Jane Erickson Hurlbert; his mother-in-law, Teressa C. Erickson; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth M. Walling, of Keyport; and many cousins. A memorial service was held at First Church of Christ Scientist, Freehold. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Freehold First Aid Squad, 18 Spring St., Freehold, NJ 07728.
