Youth drama workshops scheduled for Saturdays The Sayreville Main Street Theatre Company will offer its third season of Saturday drama workshops for youngsters, beginning Sept. 29 in the theater space in The Garden Friends, 3018 Bordentown Ave., Parlin section of Sayreville. "Imagination and Creativity," open to 6- to 8-year-olds, will meet from 9-10 a.m., Saturdays through Nov. 17. The workshop is designed to allow children to develop their imagination and confidence in a noncompetitive atmosphere. Exercises in imagination, pantomime and role-playing will be featured. Cost is $100, plus a $5 materials fee. "In the Spotlight," open to 9- to 14- year-olds, is set for 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. each Saturday. Students will be part of a total theatrical experience, during which they will learn performance skills, audition skills, character development and self-confidence. Enrollment is limited. Cost is $170, plus a $5 materials fee. The workshop will culminate in a junior showcase presentation to which the public is invited. All workshops will be taught by certified teachers.
