Community invited to interfaith Thanksgiving

An Interfaith Thanksgiving Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. on Nov. 19 at St. Ambrose Church, Throckmorton Lane, Old Bridge.

The service, which will blend presentations from the Catholic, Jewish and Methodist faiths, will include readings and music.

A free-will offering will be accepted for the Hunger Relief of Old Bridge Pantry. Participants are asked to bring nonperishable canned goods.

In addition there will be a collection for the following items needed and requested by U.S. troops in Iraq (give2thetroops.org):

• food - whey protein bars and powder, tuna fish in packets, salted pumpkin/ sunflower seeds, beef jerky/slim jims, hard candy and gum (must be wrapped), fruit roll-ups;

• entertainment - DVD movies (new and used), music CDs (new and used);

• miscellaneous - cotton or wool socks (black, white), boot and shoe insole cushions, freezer baggies, duct tape.
